From Dive Buddy to Adaptive Diver: Ruthanne’s Story

Longtime Diveheart volunteer and Adaptive Dive Buddy, Ruthanne Aves, now finds herself on the other side of the mask. Living with Parkinson’s, she once gave support to divers with disabilities—and today, she experiences that same support through Diveheart’s adaptive scuba program.

In our newest YouTube video, Ruthanne shares her journey of resilience, community, and the healing power of scuba diving. Her story is a reminder that beneath the surface, there are no limits—only possibilities.
