I’m honored to be the new CURC chair and to serve you and the organization. The collaboration and information sharing that happens through CURC is invaluable – thank you all for making CURC what it is! If you have any ideas about how to improve and grow even more, I’d love to discuss them with you - please don’t hesitate to contact me.
CURC has been busy over the last 6 months. We’ve had a change in officers - thank you so much to those rolling off, and welcome to those now on board! There are still board positions open, so if you’re interested, please apply. The newsletter has more information about officers and board member applications below.
CURC also hired a Program Coordinator, Eric Halvarson, to help with operations and maintenance of our communication platforms.
We have been planning webinars and reviewing feedback from last year and preparing for the workshop at AASHE in October. The workshop will be a great learning and networking opportunity for those going or considering going to the AASHE conference, and we hope you’ll join us! We strive to make every year even better than the last.
If you’re curious, here’s a little about me:
I live with my boyfriend, Dan, and our dog and cat, Mozzie and Nunki. I work as the Recycling Coordinator at Clemson University. I started in wildlife conservation, but after working as a rehabilitator I realized that it would be more effective to address the causes of habitat loss and injury rather than to keep treating sick and injured wildlife. So, I ventured into sustainable design and construction and found recycling along the way. On the days I feel discouraged, I remind myself that what we do
make a difference!
Be sure to check out details about the upcoming events below, and enjoy the rest of your summer!
