Professional Associations Work On Influencing Federal Relief Language
Both AAA and IHS have recently declared their efforts to help insure that federal relief dollars reach hearing health care practitioners. Here is what their recent statements have articulated:
AAA:
"
The Academy is engaged with Congress at this time requesting inclusion of reimbursement coverage of audiologists in the COVID-19 relief legislation. The Academy also has supported the language to include health-care providers in the small business loan proposals that are going before Congress. The staff and Academy leadership will be relentless in seeking legislative and regulatory solutions to support our members in private practice and other practice settings."
IHS:
"
Also know that IHS is communicating with Congressional Leadership to ensure that leaders and other negotiators are aware that hearing aid specialists and their businesses are significantly impacted by COVID-19 – in some cases, forced into closure. IHS is strongly advocating that hearing aid business owners and their employees be eligible for economic relief packages currently being debated, and any future packages."
