Valentine Fundraiser Dinner

"Love was in the Air"...or at least the smells and sounds of food and fellowship held on Sunday February 16th as members and friends of First Christian Church of Mt Vernon gathered together for an amazing Valentine's dinner. Thanks to our in-house "Italian" chefs who made homemade spaghetti, salad, bread, and several ooey-gooey cakes for dessert.

Following dinner our Region's own Sara Compton and Terry Peterman hosted several games of Valentine's bingo and gave away lots of chocolate prizes. A big thanks to Pastor Charlie and everyone who attended generously donated more than $500 for the Jr. and Sr. High Youth ministry. And of course a very special thanks to our youth/families for helping to prepare, serve, and clean-up this youth fundraising event. See more photos of the event here>

CCMA Leads in ALEX Reporting!

For the second week in a row, our Mid-America Region leads the Church in number of congregations that have completed their annual reporting in the new ALEX database. We are so grateful to all who have reported and to those working to get the data input. We have a couple more weeks to get the reports in, but don't wait until the last minute! If your congregation hasn't reported yet, get started here>

All Welcome to Seder

On April 5th, FCC in California will be hosting a Seder Feast and all are welcome. The Feast will be presided over by Rabbi Phil Rab. We'll then share in a potluck meal. Please use this online form to RSVP by March 23 in order to get enough supplies. Any questions can be emailed to Pastor Kevin King.

Exciting Additions at Celebration CC

Celebration CC has opened up their space to welcome new ministry and community partners. World Mission Christian Church (DoC) has moved and is now nesting at Celebration. Childbloom now has offices there and teaches classical guitar to 300 kids each week. In April the congregation will also be expanding their Ministry Center space to accommodate another mental health Christian Counselor; that space will host four such counselors to help meet the growing needs of the community.

Want Webinars?

Last year, hundreds of you joined New Church Ministry’s IMPACT episodes as we explored DisciplesNEXT.

In 2025, our ministry wants to keep the ball rolling – but with input from our audience! We value your opinions and strive to deliver content that is helpful, relevant, and thought provoking. We also know that many of you work bi- or even tri-vocationally, while taking care of children, elderly parents, going to school, and much more.

So, please help our team choose what webinar content to focus on by selecting what you’d like to learn about, and what days and times of the week work best for you, from this short survey.

Thanks for keeping in touch!
