Santa Claus is Coming to Citrus Heights

Tonight for Annual Tree Lighting!

The City’s annual holiday Tree Lighting event is happening today, December 5th! Don’t miss out on the chance to kick off the holiday season with your community. Join the City from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at City Hall for an evening of festive family fun. The Tree Lighting is a free event that includes train rides for children, Santa’s Workshop with kids activities, hot cocoa & cookies, live music from a local band and choir, and sing-a-longs! Santa Claus will also be making a special appearance to help us light the tree and take photos with attendees.

Visit the Tree Lighting web page for additional information, like the schedule of activities and parking.

New Shelter Partnership Provides Local Animal Services

This partnership will include access to a local Sacramento County animal shelter, a 24/7 customer service call center through 311, an on-site pet hospital for sheltered animals, a low-cost spay and neuter clinic, and much more.

Learn more and read the full announcement on Citrus Heights Police Department’s Animal Services site.

Get Ahead of Storm Season

With rain on the horizon, now is a great time to prepare for when storm season begins. Here are two ways you can stay storm-ready:

Free Sandbags: The City provides free sandbags to all Citrus Heights residents. Bring your ID to City Hall to receive bags to fill up at our self-serve stations. Sandbag stations are located at City Hall and C-Bar-C Park. Learn how to fill a sandbag here.

Bag Your Leaves: Place up to six bags of leaves next to your organic waste cart for pick up. Leaves that are left in the street block our drains and prevent water from flowing. Street sweepers will not sweep piles of leaves in the street.
