First Neighborhood Area Awareness Month Highlights Local Efforts

This January, we celebrated Neighborhood Area Awareness Month, a new initiative designed to spotlight the amazing people, projects, and connections that make our eight unique Neighborhood Areas so special. Throughout the month, we featured each Neighborhood Area, highlighting their efforts—from hosting community events and meetings to leading projects that enhance safety, engagement, and local pride.

Getting involved with your Neighborhood Area is a great way to stay informed, connect with neighbors, and help shape the future of our city. If you missed out this month, it’s never too late to join their monthly meetings! Find out which Neighborhood Area you live in and learn how to get involved by visiting CitrusHeights.net/NeighborhoodAreas.

A big thank you to all our Neighborhood Area leaders, volunteers, and residents who help make Citrus Heights a thriving and connected community. Let’s keep the momentum going—see you at the next Neighborhood Area meeting!

Connect with Neighbors at REACH’s Community Dinner!

REACH (Residents Empowerment Association of Citrus Heights), an umbrella organization that consists of a board of directors and one member from each of the eight neighborhood areas, will host their annual community dinner on Monday, March 10th. This community celebration will be held at the Citrus Heights Events Center (formerly Community Center) and is free to all residents.

Enjoy a delicious meal, meet new neighbors, listen to live music and participate in giveaways!

Add an ADU to Your Property with Our Permit-Ready Plans!

In 2024, the City issued 30 ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) permits--the highest annual total so far!

The City makes it easy for property owners to add an ADU to their property. With the Permit Ready ADU (PRADU) Program, property owners can select from a variety of pre-approved ADU plans that are ready for permitting. Where we answer common

resident questions

Q: How do I license my pet?

A: Citrus Heights Municipal Code § 8-90 requires all persons owning a dog or cat older than 4 months of age to license their pet! Licensing helps reunite pets with owners in case they are ever lost!

Please note that a valid rabies certificate and payment must be received before a pet license is issued.
