TARIFF IMPACT - CANADIAN LUMBER EXEMPT

While the total impact of the proposed tariffs on housing may be problematic, in a positive development, Canadian lumber is exempt. In the April 2nd announcement, the President announced he will impose a 10% baseline tariff on all of America's trading partners - with the exception of Canada and Mexico. Roughly 85% of all U.S. softwood comes from Canada. Materials such as gypsum, concrete and near-shored appliances come from Mexico. NAHB remains concerned about the overall impacts of the tariffs on home building and will continue working to mitigate negative effects. Click here for a detailed summary.

HEADS UP: TUCSON DEVELOPMENT CENTER ONLINE SCHEDULE FOR MAINTENANCE

We want to ensure you're aware that the Tucson Development Center Online will be temporarily unavailable for routine maintenance on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This planned downtime may impact permit applications, project tracking, or other services accessed through the platform, so please plan accordingly.

NEED TO CONTACT PDSD? WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED

For your convenience, we’ve included the most up-to-date contact and organizational chart for the Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD). This is a helpful reference for navigating questions or routing requests, especially during times when direct access to staff or systems may be limited. Download Here: PDSD Contact & Org Chart (2025). We encourage members to keep this resource handy as a go-to tool for connecting with the right staff or department.
