Mentorship Program
The Greater Seattle Chapter of IFMA Mentorship Program creates pathways to career success through the collaborative engagement between experienced and early career FM professionals.
In alignment with the greater strategy of the Greater Seattle Chapter of IFMA and Education Committee Charter, the Mentorship program serves as a member benefit, with shared value for both Mentors and Mentees. This program pairs Mentees with knowledgeable Mentors, providing tenured FM’s an opportunity to share their valuable knowledge to enhance the development of the next generation of industry professionals.
Participants also serve as IFMA Ambassadors, speaking to the benefits of a career in FM, IFMA credentials/programming, and connecting purpose with this line of work.
Interested in becoming a mentee or mentor? Visit https://www.ifmaseattle.org/mentorship-resources for more information!

Lunch & Learn: Call for Speakers
We are planning our Lunch & Learn series for 2026! Each month we will highlight one of IFMA’s Core Competencies and would like to hear from our members if you, or someone you know, would be interested in presenting!
Lunch & Learns are intended to educate members about Facility Management best practices, resources, case studies, or other presentations related to the core competency of the month. They are hosted on Fridays, towards the end of the month, at either the Smart Buildings Center in Seattle or Bates Technical College, South Campus in Tacoma. They are a great way to connect with our members and share FM knowledge in the community.
Please view this form to review the schedule and submit your interest or share with your colleagues!

Seattle City Light has increased energy efficiency incentives by 10 percent!
This applies to lighting retrofits, HVAC, building envelope upgrades, and process equipment improvements. Energy efficiency remains an excellent cost management tool for building owners. An additional $75 per fixture is available for LED installations with Luminaire Level Lighting Controls (LLLC). LLLC-equipped fixtures offer easy customization of facility lighting, enhancing productivity, and reducing operating costs. FYI: Lighting incentives will sunset after 2029, so add them to your capital budget now. Most HVAC and Building Controls measures are paid at $0.36/kWh saved. For details, review the updated 2025 incentives list, which outlines frequently used energy efficiency incentives for your whole building.
Get started today! Contact an Energy Advisor at SCLEnergyAdvisor@seattle.gov or call (206) 684-3800 for additional information.

Tune-Ups Due this Fall for Buildings 70,000 to 99,999 Square Feet
Although the Building Tune-Ups Ordinance will sunset after the second tune-up cycle, building owners and their qualified Tune-Up Specialists still have a lot of work to do. Building owners of Cohort 3 buildings with 70,000 to 99,999 square feet must meet the ordinance's second cycle requirements by Oct. 1st, 2025. Please note that April 1, 2026, is the extension, waiver, and alternative compliance deadline for owners of Cohort 4 buildings with 50,000-69,999 square feet. Learn more about tune-up requirements at www.seattle.gov/buildingtuneups. If you have questions about Building Tune-Ups, please email us at buildingtuneups@seattle.gov or call (206) 727-8863 (TUNE).
