Blessing of the Animals - October 7, 2018AnimalBlessing

The annual Blessing of the Animals was a real blessing for all who joined us at Christ Church this past Sunday! Animals from the largest dogs to the tiniest mice (and even tinier bees), as well as their human friends, shared a time of prayer, song and then the individual blessings. (Everybody played together nicely, too!) It truly was the Peaceable Kingdom! Click here to see all the photos from this joyous event.

X Church will return to the weekly line-up of Holy Eucharist worship services on Wednesday, October 17, at 6:30 pm, in the historic church. X Church is a service of quiet contemplation, reverence and praise that takes place every week. Join us for this time of peace and reflection in the middle of your busy week.

Daughters of the King Service of Admission and Re-dedication
Sunday, October 21 marks the admission and re-dedication of the Christ Church St. Elizabeth of Hungary Chapter, to the Order of the Daughters of the King. The ceremony will take place at the 9:15 am service and there will be a special reception after the service, at Coffee Hour, in the Parish Hall. The Order of the Daughters of the King is open to all women in the Episcopal Church. Members become part of a life-long program of prayer, service, and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and to the strengthening of the spiritual life of their parish. Contact Mtr. Ashton at [email protected] for more information

RenewalWorks

The singular emphasis on love of God and neighbor provides the foundation for RenewalWorks, a ministry in the Episcopal Church that focuses on spiritual growth by deepening love of God and neighbor in the lives of congregations, in the lives of ministries that animate those congregations, and in the lives of the individuals who bring life to those ministries.

We are using the RenewalWorks to evaluate our members and our congregation and make plans for the future.  The first step in this process is the congregational survey. Please take a few minutes out of your schedule to use the link below and answer questions about your spiritual life and your life at Christ Church. We will use this information with a team of parishioners to determine strategies and plans to improve our spiritual vitality. The link can be found here .  Each person in a household over the age of 16 is encouraged to take the survey. If this work sounds interesting to you, and you'd like to be a part of the parish RenewalWorks team, please email Father Tom at [email protected].

My dear Christ Christ Church family,

Uli and I extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone for your love and support shown us during the celebration luncheon. You've welcomed Uli with open arms and so generously shared in our happiness. We are incredibly grateful to be a part of this parish and look forward to continuing our relationship with you. Thank you again for good food, lovely gifts and friendship we will always treasure.

Mtr. Becky and Uli

Cursillo
Please keep Christ Church parishioner David Boland in your prayers this weekend, as he participates in Cursillo 125, at Honey Creek.  Cursillo is a movement which, by its own method, attempts from within the Church, to give life to the essential Christian truths in the singularity, originality and creativity of the person. In discovering their potential and accepting their limitations, they will direct their freedom with their conviction, reinforce their will with decisiveness and direct their friendship with the virtue of constancy in their day-to-day life, personally and with others.
