Celebrating our Friends at Christ Church

Father David Somerville
October 25 marks the 50th  anniversary of The Rev. David Somerville's ordination into the Episcopal ministry. Father David, who serves as an Assisting Clergy member at Christ Church, was ordained in 1969, at Trinity Cathedral, in Trenton, New Jersey. From there, he began seven years of service in parish ministry in the Diocese of New Jersey, before joining the armed forces as an Army chaplain. After his career in the Army, which included posts in Kuwait and closer to home, at Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Father David retired and became a canonical resident in the diocese of Georgia in 1996.
We recently asked Father David to share some memories and reflect on his life and career in the Episcopal Church. (He also shared some great photos!)  READ MORE HERE.
