Professional Development
Online Learning and Virtual Program Implementation
With the quick transition from in-person learning to virtual classrooms, many schools and OST programs have to quickly adapt or even create new policies and guidance on how educators and students should conduct themselves in this new virtual learning environment. The first step you should take to determine how you, as an afterschool educator can engage young people online is to check the school district for guidance.

The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) has released a comprehensive document on privacy considerations for virtual learning. Afterschool educators should reference this document, along with your school district policies on student safety, when planning to engage students in a virtual environment.

In addition, the Afterschool Alliance has created a list of online learning resources to help you transition into virtual program implementation. Click here to learn more!

Stay tuned for more opportunities for online professional development coming soon from the Nevada Afterschool Network!
