Northwest Special Education Parent Leadership Roundtable
|
Attention Parent Leaders of Morris, Sussex and Warren Counties!
Come to the table and meet with parent leaders and other interested community members. The new school year is the perfect time to press the reset button on your Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG). Join your fellow parent leaders for a conversation on how to start a SEPAG or other parent advisory groups, engage parents, foster collaborative relationships with your district, and help improve the outcomes for ALL students. Through conversation, we will review how we can provide supports and strategies you can take back to your district groups to help give it the reboot that it needs. Our goal is to make this the best year for your groups!

Story-Time Boot Camp

NJEA Teacher convention weekend is a time for teachers to sharpen their skills and stay current in their subject areas. Well, guess what? As our children’s’ first teachers, we as parents need to sharpen our skills, too! This child-friendly, interactive workshop will give you the chance to stay up to date on ways to build vocabulary and reading skills at home. You are invited to bring your children to this half-day workshop, where together you will:
- Practice reading together in a way that honors your child’s age and stage
- Learn ways to make your time together even more enjoyable
- Learn to make shared reading time a two-way conversation
- Create crafts and play games that build vocabulary and print awareness
