September 2025 | Issue 41

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to the SST3 newsletter! Each quarter, SST3 will share updates, educational topics that might be of interest to you, and upcoming professional development. We encourage you to review this information, share it with others, and visit our website for additional information. We also would appreciate learning of topics that would support your work.

Director's Message

Greetings!

As a new school year begins, we want to recognize the incredible dedication, resourcefulness, and resilience you bring to your classrooms and communities. Each new academic year offers a fresh opportunity to inspire, connect, and make a lasting impact. Whether you're returning to familiar routines or stepping into new roles and responsibilities, your work continues to shape not only academic outcomes but also the lives and futures of your students.

This year, we encourage you to lead with curiosity, lean into collaboration, and give yourself the same grace and encouragement you offer others. The journey will have challenges and be full of growth, discovery, and meaningful moments.

Thank you for all that you do. Here’s to a strong, purposeful, and rewarding year ahead.

With appreciation,

Michele Gaski

State Support Director for Region 3 (Cuyahoga County)

New ODEW Resources:

Ohio’s Integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has released Ohio’s Integrated MTSS to guide districts and schools in creating a local framework that addresses the academic, behavioral, and wellness needs of all students. This resource provides practical strategies, tools, and examples to support a whole-child approach and align initiatives within a single system.

You can find more information here on the ODEW website

PBIS Resources

SST3 is excited to share two resources that can support your PBIS work at both the building and district levels.

  • PBIS State Reporting Level Tool This tool helps teams determine the level of PBIS implementation to report in EMIS for the state report card. It includes considerations and best practices for each implementation level (A–F) and can be especially helpful as teams submit their EMIS data.

  • Schoolwide Behavior Tracking Software Resource – This guide provides an overview of available behavior tracking platforms, outlining the types of data each system can collect and display, along with a general description of each option.

If you have any questions or would like support in using these resources, please reach out to your SST or ESC consultant.

Let's Get Serious About Play!

According to Fred Rogers, “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood. This site provides many resources for educators and parents. The Guide to Adaptations provides valuable information to those interested in helping children learn about STEM.
