Join us on Friday evening, June 2, and Shabbat morning, June 3, as we celebrate Pride Shabbat. On Friday night, we will hear remarks from Chavie Weisberger (bio below). Her talk will be entitled: "Growing up Chareidi; Coming out as Queer: A discussion on the ramifications of coming out in a frum family/community." Chavie will speak during services and at dinner to follow. During Shabbat morning services, Rabbis Scheff and Drill will teach about Jewish views on transgender.

About Our Guest Speaker:
Chavie Weisberger grew up in a Hassidic community in Monsey, New York. She is a queer mother of 3 remarkable children. Chavie is the Director of Community Engagement at Footsteps where she runs community events and supports others like herself. Chavie is also the named appellant in a custody case that gave significant rights to formerly ultra-Orthodox parents to live free from religious constricts and with their full identities when with their children.
