The last of the leaves are falling, and it's already time for Thanksgiving! We here at The Other Barn have much to be thankful for, including our wonderful community. Thank you for all you do to make Oakland Mills hOMe and to support our village's students!


Upcoming fun events at The Other Barn:

  • Lively Arts for Little Ones: Mr. Jon & Friends on Friday, November 17 at 10:30 a.m. Tickets available on Eventbrite and day-of at the door.
  • Breakfast Snacks with Santa on December 2, 9:00 and 9:45 a.m. seatings. Tickets & info
  • Gingerbread House Decorating on December 13, 6:30 p.m. Tickets & info
  • Holiday Lights in the Courtyard on December 16, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Courtyard next to The Other Barn (free, no ticket required). This year, we'll have a food truck offering scrumptious holiday snacks for purchase! More info.

The WBAL Concert for Kids annual concert has raised over $105,000 in support of the WBAL Radio Kids Campaign. This year, the entire OMHS Performing Arts Department (band, choir, guitar, dance, piano, orchestra and theatre) will perform, as well as guest readers from WBAL Radio. Santa Claus will also visit! OMHS Food Pantry Decades Donation Drive

Donation period open through January 2

Which decade of graduates can raise the most funds to support the OMHS Food Pantry? The winning decade will split their earnings with the OMHS Food Pantry and the corresponding Class. All other donations go directly to the OMHS Food Pantry to support our community.


70s and 2020s = Class of 2025

80s = Class of 2027

90s = Class of 2024

2000s = Class of 2026

2010's = Split between all four Classes

Do you have some available time to come in and help in the THES Media Center? At present, the media center needs some extra hands to help shelve books! No experience is needed, and the media staff will show you exactly what to do. Also, your day and time to volunteer is very flexible.

HC DrugFree provides resources and education on prevention, treatment, recovery, and health and wellness to help Howard County residents develop knowledge and skills to understand and address behavioral health (substance use and mental health) disorders. HC DrugFree website

Oakland Mills United (OMU) is a community group started by recent OMHS graduates that advocates for the OM community and its schools and offers tutoring and college help. OMCA is a proud partner with OMU.
