Construction Community Cares Parade generates smiles and funds
for CHEO & Rogers Houses
Last Saturday morning September 10th a parade of some 50 trucks, floats, cars and pieces of equipment rolled by CHEO and Roger's House bringing smiles to many youngsters and families both on the street as well as from the windows of CHEO.

The parade was preceded by a cheque presentation of $30,000 in front of Roger's House by OCA Chair Tim Vizena of Tomlinson and NCHCA President Paul Lemire of CACE Construction.

Donations are still welcome as the fund has since grown to $31,195. Click below to go to the CHEO dedicated webpage for Construction Community Cares.

OCA Chairman's Cup Golf Tournament
It's a wrap!!
Don't believe the weather forecast is what many people were saying this past Tuesday as despite a rainfall warning by Environment Canada the golf Gods smiled on the over 432 golfers at the OCA Chairman's Cup with rain for only 4 to 5 holes. With the right attitude and some protective rain gear the vast majority of OCA members played through the one hour of rain and thoroughly enjoyed themselves on the golf course and at the group dinner at the Brookstreet Hotel.

Many thanks go to the sponsors who make this event such a success while raising $25,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.

An additional $3,800 was raised when the following 3 prize winners generously put up their prize for auction:

Tony De Marinis of De Marinis (DMA) Inc. donated Cobra golf package raising $1,200 from Justin Tudor of Kellar Engineering

Ray Shannon donated 2 Ottawa Senators tickets in Bell Club zone for home opener raising $900 from Shawn Foley of Malwood

Ian Rowbotham of Exel Contracting donated 55" Samsung TV raising $1,700 from Mark Watson of Sunbelt Rentals

Of special mention is the Hole in One by Shane Hall of McIntosh Perry at Loch March hole # 6. Too bad we didn't have a prize on that hole but Shane has his memory for life as consolation.
