Schedule Change
An early out is scheduled for Friday, February 7. We will dismiss at 12:00 p.m. and not at 1:30 p.m. that day. Our teachers will have a professional development time at Dordt with the other Christian Schools in the area.
Parent/Teacher Conferences K-4 ONLY
P/T Conferences will be held on February 11 and 13. This is for K-4 students only. Third and Fourth grade conferences are student led. Please sign-up as soon as possible to guarantee you get a time that works for you. We will have a 2:00 p.m. dismissal on Tuesday, February 11.
Dino-Light in Orange City
On Wednesday, January 29, our K-4 students will have an opportunity to attend the Orange City Arts sponsored production of Lightwire Theatre's Dino-Light, a glow-in-the-dark adventure for all ages. "In this original story, a famous scientist with magical powers brings a friendly dinosaur to life. When the dinosaur wanders away from home, he discovers a wonderful world full of creatures that light up the darkness and help him find the true meaning of love." Lightwire Theatre's Dino-Light is known for its visually stunning, cutting edge blend of puppetry, technology, and dance by audiences all over the world. This production will be shown again at 6:30 pm at the Knight Center. Tickets for the evening performance can be purchased online from the Orange City Arts site; $18 for adults, $12 for students, and children three and under are free.

Hearing Screening
Hearing screenings will take place this week at OCCS on January 23 & 24 for students in grade PS-5th & 8th grade as well as new students in 6th & 7th grade. If you would not like your child to be tested, please fill out the attached form and return it to the office: Click here for Form .

If you would like to have your child tested who is not in one of these classes, please contact the OCCS office (737-2274).
TRIP News
  • New: Flooring and Design out of Sioux Center is now participating with our program. There is a $3,000/yr maximum. It can be used for product only (tax & labor excluded). No gift cards are involved. You can pay your bill in the school office and a check will be sent to the company minus the 3% rebate.
  • Scheels Update: You can no longer purchase the $10.00 Scheels cards. This is due to a change in where the cards are ordered.
  • A TRIP payout was made as of 12/31/19. Look for the payout on your January tuition statement.
  • Main Street Theaters update: Our local theater, Holland Plaza, has been sold and is under new ownership. They will no longer accept the Main Street gift cards. If you have Main Street cards, there are theaters still open in Le Mars and Sioux City. There are more Main Street cards available for purchase if you will be heading to one of these locations.
  • TRIP hours are Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00am - 12:30pm. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00am - 3:30pm.
