March 2026

Hello!

Happy March! Even though we're only a few days into daylight saving time, I hope you've been enjoying the extra evening light. Trees have also begun to bloom, signaling the spring equinox which is next Friday, March 20!

Last week, Chairwoman Hendrickson gave the 2026 State of the County address, highlighting recent initiatives and the vision for the future. The theme of "Rooted in Gwinnett" is one of stability that can resonate with everyonewhether you've just moved here to plant new roots, or your family has lived here for decades. As the Chairwoman stated, Gwinnett's roots are strong and deep, making our county a "secure place to invest, to build, and to dream."

I hope you will join me on April 16 at the Centerville Senior Center for my State of District 2 Town Hall. If you're unable to make it in person, you can also stream it live on the County's Facebook page. More details are listed below.

In addition to the Town Hall, this issue includes several other ways to join the conversation and offer feedback on our vibrant community. And you're always welcome to reach out to me anytime at Ben.Ku@GwinnettCounty.com.

One final note, if you are part of a Homeowner's Association, please email your HOA president's contact informationit can help with the outreach for our Community Advisory Boards. Thank you!

Rockbridge Road at Wydella Road to receive traffic improvements

The County will be installing a traffic light system at the intersection of Rockbridge Road and Wydella Road to enhance commuter safety and connectivity. The project includes the construction of one left turn lane on Rockbridge — northbound and southbound — onto Wydella Road. The County will also install sidewalks, along with curb and gutter and drainage improvements. The project is partially funded by the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax program. Help shape the future of our community

The Atlanta Regional Commission is conducting a 2026 Lifelong Communities Survey aimed at understanding what people need to live well in their communities at every stage of life – from young families to older adults. This survey is meant to collect feedback on what supports and features people would like as they age. It covers topics such as housing and accessibility, transportation and walkability, community connections, and what matters most to you.

Your input helps guide planning decisions, future improvements, and potential funding opportunities that will directly impact our community. As Gwinnett residents, this is an opportunity to ensure your voices are reflected in future planning.

If you are also interested in sharing a more in-depth perspective on aging in your community, sign up to join an upcoming focus group. Contact lifelongcommunities@atlantaregional.org with any questions.
