August 2025

Happy August, District 4!

I hope this message finds you well as we kick off a new month.

I'm still reflecting on last month's City of Auburn Co-Town Hall, and I want to extend a huge thank you to all who attended. It was truly an historic event, especially being the first of its kind with the City of Auburn.

Mayor Rick Roquemore and I had a wonderful time enjoying the Auburn Downtown Farmers Market prior to the town hall. It was a great way to start the evening, connecting with our community and supporting local businesses.

I was especially grateful to be joined by Major John Bailey, Gwinnett County East Precinct Commander, and Chris Hayward, Planning and Development Assistant Director, who shared important updates. Engaging directly with you, our constituents and small business owners, at these types of events is precisely the reason I ran for office. Your insights and participation are invaluable and truly guide my work.

Also, the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners is considering keeping the general fund millage rate the same as last year, at 6.950 mills. Mark your calendars for this month's Millage Rate Adoption Public Hearings:

  • Tuesday, August 12 at 11:00am and 6:30pm
  • Tuesday, August 19 at 11:00am

All hearings will be held in the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center auditorium at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville. County staff will be available to answer your questions.

I wish everyone a wonderful end of summer and our Gwinnett scholars an excellent return to school!
