The Community Working Together
Grade 9 Take Action Project

This project was an immersive experience for Grade 9 students during two weeks in March.

During the first week:
Students heard from individuals working in the innovation space, either in Silicon Valley, or in the Toronto-Waterloo corridor. They used these inspirations to select a local issue they were passionate about: energy, environment, health, inequality, or transportation.

During the second week:
Students worked in teams to develop an innovative solution to their issue. Then they pitched their ideas to alum mentors:
Melanie-Anne ATKINS'00
Sophie HOWE'11
Sarah ROSENBLAT'10.

Following her session with students on March 8, Sarah ROSENBLAT'10, left, dropped by 16 Elm to meet Lindsay Tarvit, Branksome's new Director of Community Relations.
