A note from the Ms. Moran...
Winter has finally arrived! At school we are trying to reinforce the importance of washing hands as often as possible in an effort to help stop the spread of any germs.  Our little learners like to explore and play by putting things in and near their face and mouth. They also forget to use kleenex and often use their sleeve or hands as an alternative.  We are teaching students to use their elbow to catch their coughs and sneezes. If you think about it please reinforce this practice at home. If your child is not feeling well or has a fever, we ask that you consider keeping them home.  Spring will be here soon.
Is my child too sick to go to school?
Please call the office to report an absence by 9:30 a.m. 440-356-3515

If your child is displaying any of the following symptoms he/she should not be sent to or remain at school:

1. Severe cold and cough
2. Diarrhea
3. Vomiting
4. Unexplained rash
5. Elevated temperature (must be free of fever for 24 hours before returning to school)
6. Red, watery, burning, itching eyes
7. Lice
Tips to Fight the Flu
- Hand washing is the most effective means of preventing the spread of communicable diseases. When washing hands, friction and lather hands for 30 seconds under hot or lukewarm water (this is the minimum time needed to eliminate bacteria). This includes rubbing them for 10-15 seconds.

- Do not share toothbrushes, water bottles, cups, utensils, etc.

- Cover your face when sneezing or coughing.

Donate your unwanted crayons
Do you have broken/unwanted crayons that you are planning to throw away?
Well, save them from the landfill and donate to a good cause! The PTA is collecting used crayons and will be sending them to "Effortless Art", a company (started by a former Fairview grad!) that makes adapted crayons for early learners and special needs children.  If you would like to donate your broken/used crayons, you can drop  them in the box found in the Early Education Center office. We will be collecting them through the remainder of the school year. Any questions, please feel free to contact Karley Beaudry, karleybeaudry86@gmail.com. Thank you!
Check In/Check Out Tablet
If you are enrolled in the Daycare Programs, be sure you are using the check in/out tablet.  If you do not know your codes please ask the office for help. You will need to use the tablet to gain access to the Parkview building.  Don't forget to check your family mailbox in the vestibule!
Family and Community Engagement (FACE)
Remember, we are always trying our best as parents and yes your child is doing fine!!!  PLEASE, if you would like more information in a certain area or have questions about parenting or child development, please email or call me.  We can set up a time to go over your questions.

For this week, let's take a look at  child development from birth to 16 years old.

Have a great week!
