Frequently Asked Questions
Parkview Renovations & Temporary Locations
Here are some of the classrooms that students will be using during the temporary relocation phase. The setup you see here will change. Furniture, toys, and equipment will be brought over from the EEC.

The Parkview Early Education Center will be undergoing renovations as a part of the district facilities project that was approved by voters in November 2016. Once the upgrades are complete, Parkview families will see a fully-renovated building with completely refreshed classrooms, an upgraded secure entrance, parking lot and playground expansion, air conditioning throughout the first floor classrooms, updated electrical, plumbing, lighting, and new furniture and finishes.

This project will require us to completely vacate the building from May 23, 2019 to January 2020. We will be moving our toddler, daycare, pre-school, pre-K, DAP, and Before-and-After Care programs to St. Richard's Church School located at 26855 Lorain Rd in North Olmsted. This location is approximately a 6-minute drive from our current location.

All services will remain the same, including programming, meals, nap time, and on-site school nurse. Building hours will remain 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

UPDATE: Students who are entering Kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year will attend Gilles-Sweet Elementary for the full year.

We realize this will impact you and your child's routine. We explored several options for re-locating the program based on ratio and other state requirements for daycare centers, and St. Richard's was determined to be the closest and best option for our program. We are pleased to be able to continue services for all age levels at this location, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility during this time.

Please note that if you decide to leave the program during this renovation time, your spot will not be held. You will be moved to a wait list for when the building re-opens.

Please note these important dates:

May 28 - Program closed - Moving/Re-opening Day

Family and Community Engagement (FACE)

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and I hope your family, especially the middle and high school students have learned two important things from the activities we have been doing all year:
1) to have an adult in your life to go to when you need someone to talk to!!! (parent, family member, teacher, coach, etc).
2) two techniques you can do to calm yourself when you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, sad, nervous, etc

This is a great link from NAMI discussing digital usage and teen depression.

I love the last paragraph regarding teen sleep and taking device away so the brain can relax!
I would highly suggest to parents to put a time limit every night...say 9 or 10 p.m. (depending on their age), that the phone is in your hands until the morning.

PLEASE check out the FACE website for resources about:
summer camps
mental health resources
transition information.... and so much more!

As always, please call or email me if you have any questions, concerns or any ideas of some topics you would like me to present this summer or next school year!
