Parkview Building Renovations Information

The Parkview Early Education Center will be undergoing renovations as a part of the district facilities project that was approved by voters in November 2016. Once the upgrades are complete, Parkview families will see a fully-renovated building with completely refreshed classrooms, an upgraded secure entrance, parking lot and playground expansion, air conditioning throughout the first floor classrooms, updated electrical, plumbing, lighting, and new furniture and finishes.

This project will require us to completely vacate the building from May 23, 2019 to January 2020. We will be moving our toddler, daycare, pre-school, pre-K, DAP, and Before-and-After Care programs to St. Richard's Church School located at 26855 Lorain Rd in North Olmsted. This location is approximately a 6-minute drive from our current location.

All services will remain the same, including programming, meals, nap time, and on-site school nurse. Building hours will remain 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Students who are entering Kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year will attend Gilles-Sweet Elementary from September 2019 to January 2020. More information will be available at Kindergarten Registration Day, which is scheduled for March 14, 2019.

We realize this will impact you and your child's routine. We explored several options for re-locating the program based on ratio and other state requirements for daycare centers, and St. Richard's was determined to be the closest and best option for our program. We are pleased to be able to continue services for all age levels at this location, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility during this time.

Please note that if you decide to leave the program during this renovation time, your spot will not be held. You will be moved to a wait list for when the building re-opens.

Please note these important dates:
May 23 and 24 - Program closed - Moving Day
May 27 - Program closed - Memorial Day
May 28 - Program closed - Moving/Re-opening Day
May 28, 6 p.m. - Open House for Families at St. Richard's Church
May 29 - Summer Program Begins at St. Richard's Church

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email Principal Trish Moran at (440) 356-3515 or email .

We appreciate your patience as we make the learning environment the best it can be for our students. Thank you.

Box Top Competition
Our final Box Tops Competition is now underway and runs through Friday February 22!  Please send Box Tops in a bag or envelope labeled with your child's name and classroom. Instead of a classroom competition, we are doing a competition between Kindergarten and DAP/Preschool/Daycare!  The team that collects the most box tops will be rewarded with a special party! We were able to raise over $460 in our fall contest. Hopefully we can beat that!
Kindergarten Recess
The kindergarten students will continue to go outside everyday for recess as long as the temperature is above 20 degrees.  Please make sure you are dressing your child appropriately for the weather.
Car Line Reminder
Just a reminder regarding car line.  Please do not pass other cars in car line.  In order to keep all children and staff safe remain in the line until all the cars in front of you have started to move.  We are doing our best to get children out to the car as quickly as possible.

A good way to get through this cold weather is to plan ahead! So thinking that we have around 85 more days til summer vacation sounds very warm!

Now that we are in the middle of the school year, it is always a good time to do the following with your child:

1) Supplies - do they need to get some more school supplies? (new folders, pencils, paper, etc.)

2) Sleep - is your child getting enough sleep?  Do they have a good routine on getting to bed at a decent time so they get 8-10 hours of sleep?

3) Work - is your child finding a time each night (Monday-Thursday) to spend time reviewing work, finishing some work up or reading?  There is always something to do for school!
