Attention incoming Kindergarten and First Grade Parents!

Please join us on Tuesday, April 30th, 2019, for our Kindergarten and First Grade Parent Orientation program at Gilles-Sweet Elementary School.  This informative evening will help make your child's transition from preschool and kindergarten to Gilles-Sweet Elementary School a positive and exciting experience!

We are looking forward to the 2019-20 school year!

Highlights of the evening are:
*Mrs. Barbra Brady, Principal and Ms. Trish Moran, Kindergarten Principal, presenting you with an overview of Gilles-Sweet Elementary School and building policies.
*A PowerPoint Presentation outlining your child's first year at Gilles-Sweet prepared by first grade teacher, Miss Eppler; kindergarten teacher Mrs. Laughlin; and guidance counselors, Mrs. Schulte and Mrs. Schlesinger.
*Question and comment period.

This program is for parents only!  Gilles-Sweet PTA will provide babysitting services, if needed, in the Staff Dining Room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Parkview Renovations & Temporary Locations
Here are some of the classrooms that students will be using during the temporary relocation phase. The setup you see here will change. Furniture, toys, and equipment will be brought over from the EEC.

The Parkview Early Education Center will be undergoing renovations as a part of the district facilities project that was approved by voters in November 2016. Once the upgrades are complete, Parkview families will see a fully-renovated building with completely refreshed classrooms, an upgraded secure entrance, parking lot and playground expansion, air conditioning throughout the first floor classrooms, updated electrical, plumbing, lighting, and new furniture and finishes.

This project will require us to completely vacate the building from May 23, 2019 to January 2020. We will be moving our toddler, daycare, pre-school, pre-K, DAP, and Before-and-After Care programs to St. Richard's Church School located at 26855 Lorain Rd in North Olmsted. This location is approximately a 6-minute drive from our current location.

All services will remain the same, including programming, meals, nap time, and on-site school nurse. Building hours will remain 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

UPDATE: Students who are entering Kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year will attend Gilles-Sweet Elementary for the full year.

We realize this will impact you and your child's routine. We explored several options for re-locating the program based on ratio and other state requirements for daycare centers, and St. Richard's was determined to be the closest and best option for our program. We are pleased to be able to continue services for all age levels at this location, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility during this time.

Please note that if you decide to leave the program during this renovation time, your spot will not be held. You will be moved to a wait list for when the building re-opens.

Please note these important dates:
May 23 and 24 - Program closed - Moving Day

May 28 - Program closed - Moving/Re-opening Day
