You are warmly invited to an Interfaith Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving honoring All Things Tucson — from the founding of the Presidio San Agustín de Tucson in 1775 to the living cultures that have called the Santa Cruz Valley home for over 4,000 years.
“August 20th is not only a marker of Tucson’s founding by Spanish settlers,” said Rev. John Angiulo, Presidio Museum Board member, “it is a moment to honor the thousands of years of Indigenous peoples living in communities in the Santa Cruz River Valley, and the many faith traditions that have helped shaped this desert home.”
Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2025
Location: St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave.
Time: 6:30 pm
Roman Catholic Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas will host a service featuring local clergy and faith leaders from many traditions. Together, they will offer prayers, reflections, and expressions of gratitude for the unique spirit and story of Tucson — a city with a living history.
This is a free, public event — all are welcome as we honor our shared desert home.
