To submit an article for Tidings, email Anne here by Mondays at 12:00 noon.

You are warmly invited to an Interfaith Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving honoring All Things Tucson — from the founding of the Presidio San Agustín de Tucson in 1775 to the living cultures that have called the Santa Cruz Valley home for over 4,000 years.

“August 20th is not only a marker of Tucson’s founding by Spanish settlers,” said Rev. John Angiulo, Presidio Museum Board member, “it is a moment to honor the thousands of years of Indigenous peoples living in communities in the Santa Cruz River Valley, and the many faith traditions that have helped shaped this desert home.”

Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2025

Location: St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave.

Time: 6:30 pm

Roman Catholic Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas will host a service featuring local clergy and faith leaders from many traditions. Together, they will offer prayers, reflections, and expressions of gratitude for the unique spirit and story of Tucson — a city with a living history.

This is a free, public event — all are welcome as we honor our shared desert home.

Sabbatical Postcards

Responses

We are almost at the finish line for our congregation's sabbatical postcard reflections. All-ee, All-ee, in free! Send in your honest insights on faith, truth and attentiveness. These final postcards may reveal the most impactful, and yet unspoken, reflections. We read and honor every response! From the Sabbatical Team

Now is the perfect time to send your reflections and ideas on any or all of the eight postcards.

The first part of the card is from your point of view or experience. The second part of the card is asking you to bridge into another’s experience and point of view, perhaps someone you struggle to understand.

The postcards invite us to enter into the thinking of people we may find hard to understand. Many may just see it as a refreshing shower, but to others, it may be different. This may be a first step to bridging opposing views into common solutions.

If you need another one of the most recent cards, extras are available

in the church entrance.

Click here to see the introductory letter and instructions.

Return the postcards:

  1. Through the mail
  2. Drop them in the offering plates in church (unused stamps, too)
  3. Or drop them off in the office
