A Better Self-Funded Health Plan
Nine Ways to Reimagine Failing Health Plans
Whether you’re a benefits manager, broker, provider, or insurer, it’s hard to swallow being part of an industry that’s perceived to be failing 70% of Americans. We can and will do better, but it requires identifying and recognizing the fact that for all we’ve tried over the years, we’re still in a place where the average American feels they’re not supported and don’t trust the system.

Containing dialysis costs and preventing chronic kidney disease risks
High-Touch Intervention for Substantial Savings
Challenge: A food manufacturer with 12,000 covered lives faced unique challenges with its population, which had an identified prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD). These members struggled with both access to and navigation of healthcare resources and, because of their rural location, there were historically high hospital emergency department utilization and catastrophic claims due to the lack of preventive care.

Results: Renalogic decreased emergency room utilization and members’ progression to dialysis, helping with company save $2,775 per member per month (since enrollment).
