FELLOWSHIP AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Women's Bible Study and Fellowship
Friday, January 24th at 10:15 a.m.
Chapter House
We are learning about the "Fruit of the Spirit" and discovering how they relate to our daily lives. This week we continue our conversation about LOVE as a fruit of the Spirit.
No previous expertise required! This is a great opportunity to enrich your journey with God and others.
Men's Bible Study and Fellowship
Tuesday, January 28th at 8:30 a.m.
Chapter House
The Acts of the Apostles (Ch. 18) and excerpts from C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity" serve as the starting point for thoughtful conversation and spiritual reflection. This is a great group of men who draw from many different denominations. Lively fellowship, conversation and fresh brewed coffee are the order of the day.
Feel bored with worship? Stunted in your spiritual walk with God? Hungry for making sense of life in your "second mountain" (google David Brooks for reference) ?
Well, we want to talk to you!

St. Andrew's will be offering a small group - forum style opportunity for parishioners to gather and share their needs, interests, hopes and desires for St. Andrew's. Part of our time together will be to provide feedback from the Parish Survey parishioners took last Spring. The second part of the session will be spent aligning short and long term ministry priorities with parishioner's Spiritual growing edges.

We have set aside three dates in order to encourage as many parishioners to participate as possible. You are asked to attend one of these three sessions:

Wednesday, February 5th 9:00 - 11:00
Wednesday, February 5th 4:00 - 6:00
Thursday, February 6th 9:00 - 11:00

Spiritual Care of those with Dementia and Alzheimer's
Monday
February 10th
at 9:00 a.m.
  • How do we affirm and celebrate our connections with God as we grow older and experience changing capacities?
  • How do we care for one another when a loved one or neighbor experiences cognitive decline or dementia?
  • How do we make our worship services embracing and nourishing for all sorts and conditions of folks?

Every faith community asks these important questions. St. Andrew’s will enjoy the gift of the Reverend Colette Bachand-Wood's wisdom, experience, and compassion on these subjects.

She will be our guest preacher Sunday, February 9th (both services)
then, on Monday morning, February 10th, Colette will lead a presentation on the "Spiritual Care of those with dementia ."
The session will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 10:30.
There will be a time for Questions and Responses.
Folks who would like to stay a little longer to discuss their particular concerns are welcome to do so.

Colette is the author of  Do This, Remembering Me:   The Spiritual Care of Those with Alzheimer's and Dementia . And currently serves at the Chaplain at Penick Village Retirement Center in Southern Pines, NC.
