Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Liza Moorman and her remarkable Invasive Warrior team, Glenmore is now one of the few communities in Virginia to be officially recognized as a Stewardship Area by Blue Ridge PRISM!

Blue Ridge PRISM is an organization committed to eliminating harmful invasive plants to help protect and preserve our native species. After being impressed by the mission, organization, and commitment of Glenmore’s Invasive Warrior team, along with the support from the Glenmore Community Association (GCA), Blue Ridge PRISM has proudly designated Glenmore as a recognized Stewardship Area.

As part of this recognition, Blue Ridge PRISM will provide valuable support to Glenmore’s stewardship efforts, offering advice, training, and resources to ensure ongoing success in protecting our natural environment.

Once again, congratulations to the Invasive Warrior team, and all the volunteers who have made this possible!

Super Hero

Glenmore's Unsung Heroes: Jody Smith

The Glenmore Community thrives due to our dedicated volunteers. Therefore, the GCA will be highlighting an exceptional volunteer on a routine basis in our monthly News and Notes.

The Glenmore board would like to recognize and thank Jody Smith for her efforts to make our community a better place to live! Jody has spent the good part of the year talking to residents on how the Sports Field could be utilized in a more purposeful way. As such, Jody is working on a multi year strategic plan to fix the batting cage, make the basketball court regulation height and improve the surface, and multiple other projects. The first stage of her multi-year plan is already in motion, as a small playground (ages 2-12) will be installed in June; look for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate! Furthermore, Jody can be seen walking on our paths around the community and providing valuable feedback on their condition so they remain safe for our residents. If you see Jody around the community, please thank her for her hundreds of hours she has dedicated to Glenmore.

Security: No Solicitation Policy in Glenmore

Recently, we've received reports of service companies such as Front Line, Brightspeed, and EcoShield knocking on doors to solicit business.

These companies gain entry to the community when they have a legitimate service call for a resident who is a customer. Often after completing that service, they then go door-to-door to solicit business, rather than leaving the community as required.

Glenmore prohibits solicitation and when we are made aware of any company violating this policy, we contact them directly and instruct them to cease soliciting within the community.

If you encounter any solicitation, email or call the Gatehouse at:

email: glenmoregatehouse@gmail.com

Phone: 434-977-7019

Please provide the name of the company, a description of the person, and any other relevant details, and we will follow up with the company and the individual to ensure they comply with our community rules.

Thank you for helping keep Glenmore a peaceful, solicitation-free environment.

For Your Information...

Being part of the neighborhood association means following rules and regulations, which can sometimes be confusing. The FYI section of this newsletter is here to help residents better understand the community's expectations.

Important Notice to Homeowners:

Unauthorized Bollards in Yards

During a recent inspection, it was observed that some homeowners are using unauthorized bollards in their yards. We would like to remind everyone that bollards should follow the standard design: wooden posts painted in green and white.

Please note that non-standard bollards, including plastic reflectors, are prohibited, except for temporary use during snowstorms and snow removal. In these instances, residents may place visible plastic stakes or reflectors along the roadside up to 48 hours before a predicted snowstorm. These should be removed within 48 hours after the snowstorm has passed.

We kindly ask that all residents remove any unauthorized bollards from their yards. If you need permanent bollards, please contact Associa at associa@glenmore-community.org so we can assist in determining whether you need permanent or temporary bollards.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping maintain the aesthetic standards of our community.
