Dog Etiquette

There are few things as pleasant as taking a long stroll or a romp in the dog park with your favorite four legged companion. With so many dogs in the community it is important for owners to practice good dog etiquette.

  • Leash your dog when not on your property. The only exception is when you and your dog are within the confines of the dog park. And please NO unleashed dogs on the Sports Field.

  • If you want to run your dog off leash, take advantage of the GCA Dog Park (Located adjacent to the Sports Field on Carroll Creek Road) and be sure to follow the posted rules

  • Thank you for keeping our community clean and picking up your dog's waste and disposing it properly. Dog waste receptacles are located at various points on walking paths throughout the community.

  • All Glenmore dogs  must have an Albemarle County dog license displayed on the dog’s collar at all times.

If you discover a dog owner not abiding by the above rules please discuss it with the owner and if necessary report it to Associa for documentation. However if you encounter an aggressive dog contact Animal Control (434-977-9041) first and then report it to Associa. Further action may be taken by the GCA.

Residents

Parents and caregivers when dropping your student(s) off at the bus stop, please do not park on the grass, dirt or walking paths. Doing so causes damage and puts walkers at risk when they have to walk around your vehicle into the street.
