Glenmore Events: Join The Fun!

Come Celebrate Our Nation's 250th Birthday Extravaganza!

July 4th Festivities kick off with Glenmore's Traditional Community Parade

The parade kicks off Saturday at 11:00 AM, starting with lineup at 10:30 AM on Paddington Circle at the Bremerton Cottages.

Everyone is invited to join in—bring anything that rolls or walks, from bikes and carts to cars, tractors, horses, and ponies! The parade ends at the Clubhouse, where refreshing snow cones will be waiting to celebrate the finish.

Fireworks and Festivities

July 5th 6:30pm

at the Glenmore Club Parking Lot

There will be a food truck, a member-charge bar (cash and card accepted for non-members), and fun-filled games for the whole family. Kids can look forward to balloon animals and other hands-on activities designed just for them.

Explore informational booths hosted by the Red Cross and Invasive Warriors, and get an up-close look at rescue vehicles provided by the ERVFC. There’s plenty to see, do, and experience before the night sky lights up.

Fireworks start between 8:30 and 8:45. The festivities are open to the whole Glenmore community!

Night Skies Over Glenmore

Resident Host Kevin Fitzpatrick welcomed 44 attendees of all ages for an evening of community stargazing.

Members of the Charlottesville Astronomical Society brought multiple telescopes and shared guidance, while residents also brought their own equipment.

Participants learned about different types of telescopes through hands-on instruction and one-on-one support.

After a brief introduction, attendees observed Jupiter and Saturn, with especially clear views of Saturn’s rings. Guests moved between telescopes to compare views, and one telescope was used to begin capturing a distant galaxy.

Moving forward, the team plans to schedule monthly viewing events, with dates selected in advance and confirmed based on weather forecasts, and events publicized within three days of the scheduled date to reduce cancellations.

Each session will begin with a short orientation followed by guided telescope use and shared viewing.

Telescopes will be provided, but bring your own to learn how to make the most of your stargazing experience.

No reservations necessary.

E-Bike Use and Safety

Guidelines in Glenmore

As electric bicycles become more popular, it’s important for all residents to understand the rules and safety expectations for riding e-bikes within Glenmore.

Within Glenmore, e-bike use is permitted with specific guidelines in place to ensure the safety of all residents.

Age Requirement & Supervision

E-bike riders must be at least 14 years old. Riders under 18 must be supervised by an adult (18+).

Where E-Bikes Are Allowed

Glenmore roads: All classes of e-bikes (Class 1, 2, and 3) are permitted.
Nature Trails (unpaved shared-use trails): Only Class 1 e-bikes are allowed. These trails are shared with walkers, hikers, horses, and traditional bicycles, so extra caution is required.

Where E-Bikes Are Not Allowed

Sidewalks: No bicycles of any kind—including all classes of e-bikes are permitted on sidewalks. These are designated pedestrian pathways along roadways and throughout the community.
Club property: Bikes and e-bikes are not permitted on club grounds, including the golf course and cart paths.

Shared Responsibility

All riders are expected to operate responsibly and courteously, especially in shared-use areas. Please be mindful of speed, visibility, and yielding to pedestrians and horses on trails.

By following these guidelines, we help ensure that Glenmore remains safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Accounts not paid within 35 days of the first day of the fiscal quarter shall be sent a payment due reminder and assessed a notice fee in the amount of fifteen dollars ($15.00)

Note: All payments are applied to the oldest outstanding balance due.

Accounts not paid within 65 days of the first day of the fiscal quarter shall be sent a second late notice via certified mail, advising the owner of the assessment of a 5% late fee, and a $20.00 notice fee.

Bollard Use Update for

Glenmore Community

As part of our efforts to keep Glenmore looking its best, the GCA Board is reviewing our bollard policy and plans to limit their use going forward.

Bollards were originally installed to help protect corner lots during new home construction, but many are no longer needed and can detract from the appearance of our community.

In advance of a GCA published policy, if you have a bollard (in good condition) on your property that no longer serves the intended purpose, please contact Associa for guidance. Otherwise, please dispose of bollards that are split and/or bent.

As a reminder, reflective snow poles and driveway markers are only permitted during winter weather events. They may be installed up to 48 hours before a snowstorm and must be removed within 48 hours after conditions have cleared.

Markers left in place outside of these timeframes may result in a notice of noncompliance in accordance with community guidelines.

Community Safety Reminder:

Let’s Share the Road Safely

With children out of school and pedestrians enjoying strolls throughout the community this summer, please remember a few key safety practices:

Walk facing traffic whenever there is no sidewalk. This helps you see approaching vehicles and makes you more visible to drivers.
Avoid distractions while walking. Earbuds or headphones can prevent you from hearing cars or warnings—keep volume low or use only one earbud if needed.
Teach children basic road safety: stay aware, walk as far from traffic as possible, look both ways before crossing, and never assume drivers see you.
Drivers, please observe posted 25 mph speed limits in residential areas. Slower speeds save lives, especially with increased pedestrian activity.
With over 50,000 vehicles passing through our gates weekly, safety depends on everyone doing their part.

Let’s all share the road safely.

Un-Sung Heroes

The Quiet Heroes of Glenmore

If you watch closely, you can see them all over Glenmore. They are bending down to pick up litter of all kinds, other dog’s poop, tree branches across our pathways and nature trails, and just about anything else that should have been properly disposed of or moved out of the way. They don’t like litter but they sure love Glenmore.

The Quiet Heroes of Glenmore are the proud residents of our community who take great pride in seeing Glenmore always look neat and pretty. The know that littering is a form of disrespect and they just won’t have it, at all.

They don’t seek the spotlight; they just seek out trash. They are not told to pick up litter; they just do it. The next time you see a Glenmore street without litter or debris, please say a whispered thank you to the Quiet Heroes of Glenmore. They know who they are and they will hear you.

A special thank you to all residents who help keep Glenmore clean and beautiful. Your efforts are very much appreciated.
