Community News & Events

July 2, 2026

Due to snow canceling the Amherst County Parks and Recreation Department's craft sale last December, they moved their Christmas Craft Fair to July 11th, so we have moved ours to the 25th to give vendors an opportunity to participate in both events!

We are also reducing our vendor price - Amherst County Chamber of Commerce members will pay only $10 to table, and the non-member fee is $15!

Saturday

Celebrate Independence Day with an evening of live music, community, and summer fun surrounded by the beautiful mountain backdrop of Pleasant Vista's outdoor amphitheater. Tickets provide access to the concert grounds, all performances featuring two live bands (635 Band and Jackson Moore), comfortable seating which allows you to relax and enjoy an unforgettable evening and a spectacular Fourth of July celebration. We will not have fireworks at this event. Reserve your tickets today, limited availability.

Through Sunday

Coming Events

The Central Virginia Planning District Commission (CVPDC) is updating the regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), a five-year strategic plan to strengthen and diversify the region's economy (Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell Counties and the City of Lynchburg). The CEDS Plan will set the foundation for economic development, establish regional collaboration, and increase our communities' eligibility for federal program support.

As part of this effort, a public survey has been developed to gather additional input from residents, businesses, farmers, and community stakeholders. The CVPDC CEDS Stakeholder Survey will run from June 26th (today) through July 17th.
