Jane Isford and Nancy Cabot
"August is the border between summer and autumn; it is the most beautiful month I know." Quote from Sylvia Plath
A Grateful Two-Year Milestone
It’s been two years since the Floral Design Committee was formed at the request of Donna Arold and Joan Cavazuti. We are deeply grateful for the support of our Board, fellow Committee Chairs, members, and the community. Special thanks to the island nurseries, florists, farms, and Cronig’s for their generous contributions to our events.

Participating members included: Wiet Bacheller, Jeannie Brown, Joan Cavazuti, Paula Craft, Joan Eville, Iris Gold, Connie Hastings, Fawn Hurwitz, Jayne Isford, Anne Kushwaha, Sarah Lolley, Nancy Newman, Fran Van Linda, and Susie Wallo.
A special thank-you to Cronig’s, Fire Cat Farm, Ghost Farm, Morrice Florist, MV Edible Gardens, Slough Farm, Takemmy Farm, and Whippoorwill Farm for their generous floral donations.
Club Members Shine at Edgartown Historic Home Tour
On August 18, club members contributed their talents to the Edgartown Historic Home Tour, presented by the Vineyard Preservation Trust. Eight members created beautiful floral arrangements for the Carnegie and each of the featured homes, while others graciously served as docents to welcome and guide visitors.
Special thanks to Wiet Bacheller, Jane Bradbury, Joan Cavazuti, Martha Fanelli, Iris Gold, Colleen Harrigan, Sarah Lolley, and Nancy Wolf for their stunning floral designs—and to all who volunteered as docents. We are also grateful to Deb Daley, Co-Chair of the tour, for inviting our participation.
