Welcome our New Members
Anne and George Brengle moved to Cape Haze - Placida in June of this year. Anne is originally from Brooklyn, New York where she was confirmed at Grace Episcopal Church and George is from Wenham, Massachusetts where he was confirmed at Christ Church in Hamilton, MA. The Brengles were married in 1974 at Christ Church in Greenwich, Connecticut. They lived in Southeastern Massachusetts for 35 years and were members of Grace Church in New Bedford. Anne became president of the New Bedford Whaling Museum in 1984 and George served in Sales and eventually as Marketing Director of Cruising World and Sailing World Magazines in Newport, Rhode Island for 35 years. The Brengles moved to Stonington, Connecticut in 2007, when Anne was appointed president of the Coast Guard Foundation. There, they attended Calvary Church.

Upon their retirements the Brengles started a travel agent/advisory business and bought a franchise, Dream Vacations, which is part of World Travel Holdings of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and one of the top travel retail networks in the world. Throughout their married life the Brengles have visited the coast of Southwest Florida, first Manasota Key with Anne’s Grandparents and then Boca Grande with Anne’s parents, Jeanne and Jack Blum, longtime neighbors and friends of St. Andrews. The Brengles have two married sons Daniel (age 40) and Marie and Sebastian (age 36) and Jennifer. They are also blessed with two granddaughters.

Anne and George love the ocean. They are both life long sailors and are thrilled to be located now permanently in Placida. Anne is a member of the Cape Haze Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 99 and George is a long time member of the Cruising Club of America. George is an artist (oil painting) and their mutual hobbies include traveling, gardening, kayaking and bicycling.

On Friday, September 3, the Rev. Charleston Wilson and Church of the Redeemer Sarasota Senior Warden Janet Trefry presented a check for $60,000 to Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt Hoffman and Deputy Mubarak, a local law enforcement officer who immigrated to the U.S. after serving U.S. agencies in Afghanistan. The money will assist several of Mubarak’s family members who recently evacuated Afghanistan and plan to live in the Sarasota area.

Hospital Notification
or other Pastoral Needs
Members and friends of St. Andrew's admitted to the hospital are encouraged to contact us. Due to HIPAA restrictions, hospitals are not authorized to release patient information, and therefore our clergy and staff are often unaware when a parishioner has been admitted to the hospital. We take our pastoral responsibilities seriously and want to bring the ministry of prayer and healing to our parishioners in their time of need.
