The University of Wisconsin-Madison hopes to remove two residence halls, relocate 10 departments and programs and ultimately tear down the obsolete Mosse Humanities Building by 2030.

Madison’s Finance Committee on Monday recommended the city partner with golf course builder Michael Keiser by accepting a donation for Improvements to Glenway Golf Course. 
Under the proposed resolution, the city would enter into an agreement with Keiser and his wife, Jocelyn, and the Madison Parks Foundation for donated project planning, design, and construction at the near west side course at an estimated value of $750,000.

The Madison Plan Commission on Monday night again rejected plans for a Langdon Street apartment building targeting student tenants. The Hub II, a 7-story, 106-unit building proposed for 126 Langdon St. by Chicago-based Core Spaces Development was denied Conditional Use permits for the second time in less than a year.

The proliferation of tall buildings on the booming East Washington Avenue corridor continues with a developer proposing a new 15-story housing tower and commercial space a stone’s throw from landmark Breese Stevens Field.

A company whose mission is to “leave this cosmos better than when we found it,” is in the beginning stages of a plan to redevelop part of the 800 block of East Washington Avenue with a 15-story tower.

One of more than 30 vacant storefronts on State Street is getting a big new tenant: Target. The store, slated for 610 State St., will fill the space left vacant after Under Armour closed last August. According to Target’s website, the new store will be 15,000 square feet, less than an eighth the size of the store’s typical full-size store.
