ACS will host a Middle School Showcase for current 5th grade families , as well as anyone from the community who has interest in the ACS Middle School tomorrow evening, March 7 from 7-8pm. This event will highlight the academic, extracurricular, and faith nurture opportunities experienced by ACS middle school students. If you know of someone who is considering ACS, please let them know about this day and time. I would also love for you to pass any prospective names to me so that I can invite them.

Field Trip Families that owe a portion of their field trip cost for the 2018-19 school year should turn in their payment by Friday, March 15. 

The ACS Board is Directors is seeking candidates for a position on the Board starting with the 2019-2020 school year. All Board candidates must be supportive of the mission and vision of ACS, and a dedicated Christ-follower.  Board members serve for a three-year term and, if willing, may serve a second three-year term. Selections are made by lot at the Society Meeting in April. Important Technology Use Awareness event : Do you know what apps are on your child's phone? What are the latest social media trends? Do you wonder about how to talk to kids about online pornography, limit screen time, and protect them from digital strangers? In the digital age, parents must be observant, engaged, and informed. Join the Protect Young Eyes team at ACS on Tuesday, March 12 from 6:30-8:30pm. We'll discuss digital realities, strategies, and practical solutions that will enlighten, equip and encourage parents who want to teach their children how to use technology responsibly. The talk will include specific recommendations for filters and detailed explanations of popular apps and parental controls. This group presents all over the US, and they will be at ACS, in cooperation with Allendale, Borculo, Jenison, and Lamont Christian Schools. This is a don't miss event! Growing Up in the Digital Age: Raising Generation Z  - Unity Christian High School welcomes the community to a multimedia presentation  on Thursday, March 14, from 7:00 - 8:30 pm at Unity Christian High School. Dan Landstra, Unity's Director for Spiritual Life and Leadership will give an up-close look at the world of teenagers, allowing for better awareness and understanding of the most pressing issues teenagers confront and why adults matter in the lives of teenagers. Topics including social media, relationships, technology, sexuality, pornography, drugs and alcohol, work, church, and faith will be discussed. Those attending will discover how Unity engages students toward a deeper understanding of God's intended design for them and also be presented with practical ideas to effectively engage the culture and lives of teenagers. Multiple resources will be offered to encourage strong relationships through communication.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held March 12-15 in our school library!  Come check out the great selection of books. Also, stop by the  Dino-mite Scholastic Book Fair Open House kick-off on March 11 from 6-7:30pm!

Allendale Christian School will be hosting its 12th annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Saturday, March 23,  at Allendale Public High School! There will be divisions for boys and girls for each grade level in 3rd through 8th grade. NEW THIS YEAR: ONLINE REGISTRATION! Plan on a night of Family Fun at the All School Skating Party on Thursday, March 21, from 6-8pm.  This event will be held at the Terry Hall Roller Rink, 3330 Fairlanes Ave SW,  Grandville.  Admission is $5.00 per skater.  All skate rental is $1.00. Kindergarten Screening, April 10. If you are interested in having your preschooler screened for Kindergarten, please contact the school office at 895-5108.  

FACTS Tuition Assistance for 2019-2020  ACS participates in FACTS, a grant application program for our school. Completion of the FACTS application is a requirement for next year's enrollment if you are expecting a remaining balance at the end of the school year or you will be requesting tuition assistance. Families who wish to apply for tuition assistance will need to use the FACTS application format online at https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3Z45H  The application information will be easily accessible data from your 2018 tax return, along with financial accounts, and will require that copies of confirming tax documents be sent to the FACTS center.  The FACTS organization will analyze the information of each applicant. They will provide our school with recommended grant amounts based on need and financial status. Parents who have children in more than one of the participating schools need only to fill out the application one time-the information will be available to other Christian schools where their children attend. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2019. The application fee will be paid by the participating schools.

TRIP
Instant Trip is held every  Tuesday  night from  7:00-7:30pm  with a pick-up ONLY sessions every  Wednesday  morning from  8:30-9:00am.  In order for us to run this program we need at least three volunteers at each session  on Tuesday  night and one volunteer every  Wednesday  morning. Unity Christian 7th/8th Grade Tennis Team  -- Unity Christian is offering a Middle School Tennis Team for boys and girls in 7th & 8th grade this spring.  The program will run from April 8 to May 15, with practices and home matches being held at Unity's campus.  The cost to participate is $40, and the registration deadline is Wednesday, March 27.  For a flyer with more information about the program, click on this  link .  To complete online registration click on this  link .  Tennis team information can also be found at  www.unitychristianathletics.org  under "More" and then "MS Sports".

The Heritage Christian School Spring Children's Clothing and Toy Sale will be held on Saturday, March 9 from 9am - 12:00. Items for sale include infant to teen clothing, outdoor/indoor toys, sports gear, books, games, shoes, sandals, baby equipment, maternity and more. Delicious baked goods are also for sale! A group of churches is putting together a Saturday Morning seminar aimed at helping parents disciple their kids more intentionally.     Join us March 9 at Remembrance Church for a half day seminar with Dr. Rob Rienow, Visionary Parenting: Capture a God-sized vision for your family. Discipling your children to know and love the Lord is not an easy task, but it is an important one.
