Live The Story
Ephesians 2: 8-10
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Virtual Christmas Program! We are glad that we can celebrate the Light of the World as an ACS community! We are excited to premiere our hard work on Monday, December 21 at 6:30pm! Watch your email this weekend for the link that you can share with family and friends!
Early Childhood & Child Care enrollment
- For current ACS families, enrollment for 2021-22 preschool and child care will begin on Wednesday, January 6. There will be a one-week window for ACS families to enroll in those programs before it is open to the public. The enrollment form will be sent out at the conclusion of Christmas break. We also need your help! Due to the fact that we will not be able to hold the Early Childhood Open House in January (due to COVID), we will be offering individual tours and sitting down with prospective families. We will be advertising on JQ99 this year (starting in late December) and pushing out information via Facebook and postcards.
-
If you know someone that is interested, send them to our school website, under preschool, and there will be a sign-up for an individual tour. They can also call school or email to bkoetje@allendalechristian.org. Help us promote ACS!
-
For the 2021-2022 Preschool Schedule and tuition rates, please visit https://www.allendalechristian.org/academics/preschool.cfm. Note: We have added a Nature-Rich option for 3-year old students on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
- Open enrollment begins on January 14 for the general public!
There will be NO school on Monday, January 4 With the potential of gatherings on New Years Eve, as well as New Years Day, we believe it is in the best interest of the staff and students to provide one extra buffer day prior to bringing everyone back to school. The health department has informed us that many COVID symptoms begin 2-3 days after exposure. To be as safe as possible, we are going to come back to school on Tuesday, January 5, which is 4 days after New Years Day. We think this mitigation step is one more way to ensure we can remain in-person for learning. Monday will also allow the teachers to reset and prepare to welcome the kids back for 2021. As we have done before, we continue to ask our families to use caution when sending students back after travel and if you choose to gather for the holidays.
There will be NO school on Friday, January 29 As mentioned earlier, many teachers have had students both in the classroom and at home, whether it be for quarantine or kids staying home a little longer when they don't feel well. Many schools have evaluated the extra amount of work for teachers and have planned for multiple half days, or full days, to allow the teachers to catch up on extra preparation, as well as take a breath. January 29 will be provided for the teachers to prepare for the continued support they are providing for various situations during this unique school year.
Hot Lunch Volunteers are needed Please follow this link to sign up!
Mr. Wiechel bought some ACS masks for the staff earlier this fall and has some extras available. If you, or your child is interested, please send him $5.20 in cash or Venmo @nwiechel. He will get the mask to your child's teacher who will then get it to your child. Here is a picture of what it looks like.
Lost and Found Please remind your kids to check the lost and found for any items that may belong to them!
With the increasing community COVID spread, it is so important that parents send healthy kids to school. If you have a child that is not feeling well, please keep them home. If these are typical symptoms for you child, and not worsening, and there is no reason to believe there has been a contact to a positive COVID case, students may return after following normal protocols, like 24-hours fever free. Please use the 'Who Must Stay Home' document below (page 2) as a guide for when students should stay home.
-- There are many other documents on our re-opening page that can answer many questions you might have, specific to ACS, or more general procedures for schools regarding COVID, staying at home, etc. Here is the LINK to that webpage.

Moms in Prayer Our need to pray for our children and educational systems is greater than ever. As Christ works through her, a mom can be the greatest force for good in the lives of her children and the children around her. We believe that lives are changed forever when moms gather together to pray to the only One who can intervene in our lives to bring lasting change. Moms JUST LIKE YOU can make an eternal difference as they talk to God in prayer. Please join us!
