ACS NEWS & ENROLLMENT INFORMATION
We have heard that many important community members are NOT getting news about ACS! These people are grandparents and great-grandparents. I have spoken to many grandparents who tell me they are not aware of current news at ACS because they are not getting the information we send out. Typically, at Grandparents Day, many provide their contact info so they can hear the good news of their grandkids' school. We often communicate by email, mail, and phone. Here is how you can help: PLEASE take a moment to click on the link below. This will take you to a document where you can provide the contact info for your child(ren)'s grandparents. Under each set of grandparents, there is a space to enter their name(s), email address, phone, and mailing address. Please fill out as much info as you are able. There are also spaces for Great-grandparents, as many ACS students have great-grandparents that would love to be updated as well. There are extra spots as some ACS students have more than 2 sets of grandparents, etc.

Tuition Assistance for 21-22 ACS participates in FACTS, a grant application program for our school. Completion of the FACTS application is a requirement for next year's enrollment if you are expecting a remaining balance at the end of the school year or you will be requesting tuition assistance. Families who wish to apply for tuition assistance will need to use the FACTS application format online at https://factsmgt.com. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2021. The application fee will be paid by the participating schools.

ACS ANNUAL GOLF OUTING
Come participate in a tee party by signing up for the Allendale Christian School annual golf outing! ACS is partnering with AnchorPoint Christian School for a second year in hosting the annual golf outing (4 person scramble) on Saturday, May 22, 2021, starting at 9am. $100 per golfer. Proceeds from the event go towards keeping tuition costs affordable for all families, with funds supporting that individual school.

Are you looking for a fun way to get involved at ACS and help raise funds for the school? The PTA is looking for two Committee Chairs for the 2021-2022 school year. Both our Steam & Gas Show Fundraising Committee (July 2021) and Family Fun Night Committee (October 2021) are in need of new Committee Chairs. This would be a great opportunity for two people, four people, or two couples to work together planning for two fun events. Interested parties can email ACS PTA at pta@allendalechristian.com with any questions or to sign up.

Upcoming opportunities to support ACS Please put these events on your calendar to help our AC-PTA finish strong as they help keep tuition affordable for all families and provide resources that support the students and staff at ACS

  • Walkathon: April 30 - We are looking to raise more than $20,000 with this annual event. AND..... if ACS students raise more than $20,000, Mr. Koetje will step in to a dunk tank, likely the following week, and let students have a chance at making him swim in some frigid water. Let's make it happen! Rain Date: May 7
  • 3-on-3 Tournament: May 8 - This event will be held outside at Allendale Public Middle School. It is for boys and girls in grades 3-8. To learn more and register, please visit this LINK. Rain Date: May 15
  • ACS Auction: May 15 (and week prior) - The Auction will look different this year. Keep an eye out for communication on this fun annual event. The Auction committee is planning a community event on Saturday, May 15, and is working to make sure it is done safely. The in-person community event will include the live auction. In the week leading up to the event, we will be having a virtual auction for many items that would normally be on tables throughout the gym, along with a few larger items. So this year's auction will give people a chance to support ACS at home and at school.

Instant Trip is held every Tuesday night from 7:00-7:30pm with a pick-up ONLY sessions every Wednesday Morning from 8:30-9:00am. In order for us to run this program we need at least three volunteers at each session on Tuesday night and one volunteer every Wednesday morning. It is so important that parents send healthy kids to school. If you have a child that is not feeling well, please keep them home. If these are typical symptoms for you child, and not worsening, and there is no reason to believe there has been a contact to a positive COVID case, students may return after following normal protocols, like 24-hours fever free. Please use the 'Who Must Stay Home' document below (page 2) as a guide for when students should stay home.

Veldman Farms is a greenhouse in Zeeland seeking help with planting, shipping and various other tasks. The work starts in Mid-end February to the end of May/beginning of June. Ideally looking for daytime help (8-10hours) depending on the demand of each week. Must be able to work in a fast pace environment and be on your feet for long periods. Candidates must be detail oriented and fast learners. Some work will be working as a team-while other times working individually. Workers need reliable transportation and required to show up to work when needed. Contact us if you are interested in joining our team for our upcoming season. Unity Christian is offering a Middle School Bowling program for boys and girls in 6th- 8th grade this spring. The program will run from April 12 to April 28, with practices held on Mondays/Wednesdays at Hudsonville Lanes. The cost to participate is $55, and the registration deadline is Friday, March 26. For a flyer with more information about the program, click on this link. To complete online registration click on this link. Bowling information can also be found at www.unitychristianathletics.org under “More” and then “MS Sports”.
