ACS News
Student Drop off The bus loop is only to be used by parents bringing or picking up their child to preschool or daycare, all other students need to enter through the main entrance to school off from 64th Ave. Thank you for helping us keep our kids safe!

ACS is looking for a couple people to be on a list as a substitute bus driver. If you know of someone that currently drives bus, is a retired bus driver, or even someone who has their CDL and would be interested in driving-- please contact Brian Koetje at  bkoetje@allendalechristian.com .

School Closing It is possible for ACS to be closed or delayed because of bad weather or when the condition of the roads would make it unsafe for the buses to travel. Because most of our students are transported by Allendale Public School buses, the decision to delay or close school will be made in conjunction with the Allendale Public School administrators. Young Fives - 8th grade parents will receive a phone call via an Instant Alert system through Allendale Public School in the case of a cancellation or delay. Preschool families should look for cancellations or delays on our website www.allendalechristian.org or the local television stations/websites. If there is a 2 hour delay, all morning preschool classes will be cancelled. If the school is closed, all preschool classes will be cancelled. If school is cancelled, all afternoon and evening events will be cancelled as well.

Winter Weather Please be sure to have your child dress warm (boots, hats, jackets, mittens, scarf) for outdoor recess! Students are required to go outside unless the outdoor temperature or windchill is below zero. PLEASE BE SURE TO PUT YOUR CHILD'S NAME IN ALL CLOTHING!

ACS is participating in a food drive for our local Hand2Hand ministry at Second Church .  Please send food items from the list below no later than November 22! You can send the items to your child's classroom or put them on the table in the rotunda. Thank you for your help in sharing God's love by feeding hungry children right here in Allendale! (Please be sure to check the expiration date on all food before donating!)

On Monday, December 16, ACS will be performing their annual Christmas concert for family and friends. This is a great way for us all to kick off the Christmas season and for the students to show you what they have learned so far this year in their music classes. It will take place at Ceglarek Fine Arts Center (Allendale Public Fine Arts Center) at 6:30 pm. Below is a message from Mr. Koetje about this year’s concert! ACS families - The students and Miss Brummel are so excited to present the Christmas
concert on December 16! It is so awesome to be able to worship with so many people and celebrate
the birth of our Savior. If you have been to the program the past couple of years, you have noticed that we have run out of seating with our rapid enrollment growth. This year, again, we added many new families and students. With limited seating available, we are requesting that families try to keep attendance to parents, siblings, and grandparents. We understand there might be a situation where someone else might need to come in place of these immediate family members, but we do not want to make immediate family members stand or not be able to observe the program because we have run out of seats. Thank you for your help!

Moms in Prayer Each week a group of Moms from ACS, APS, and GV gather for one hour to grow together in praying for our kids, their teachers, and our schools. We meet right here at Allendale Christian on Thursdays  from 8:30-9:30am  in the girls locker room!  All Moms are welcome, whether you desire to grow in this area or if it is your greatest passion.

Lost and Found items remaining at the start of Thanksgiving Break will be donated to Revive Resale Store. Please take a moment to look through the Lost and Found bin (located near the gym) and claim items belonging to your family.

TRIP Info and Volunteer Schedule Instant Trip is held every Tuesday night from 7:00-7:30pm with a pick-up ONLY sessions every Wednesday Morning from 8:30-9:00am. In order for us to run this program we need at least three volunteers at each session on Tuesday night and one volunteer every Wednesday morning. If you are interested in volunteering. Please contact a trip coordinator or email Christy Breuker at  jcbreuker@yahoo.com

Community News
Unity Christian High School is presenting the musical  Tuck Everlasting,  based on the children’s book by Natalie Babbitt. Performances are November 21 and 22 at 7:00 p.m. and November 23 at 5:00 p.m. and will be held in the Hudsonville High School Auditorium on Allen Street. Presale tickets are available beginning October 21 for $14 and general sale tickets are available beginning November 8 for $8. Tickets are sold online at  www.unitychristian.org , under the “News and Events” tab. You will be able to pick your own seats and pay online. For handicap seating, please call the Unity office at 669-1820.
