ACS NEWS & ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

Last week, Christian Schools International completed a Site Visit to evaluate how ACS is doing in many key areas. They also evaluated our School Improvement Plan. To end the Site Visit, they gathered the staff to share that they overwhelmingly recommended ACS for re-accreditation! Congratulations to the staff and the School Improvement Committee for a job well done!

Child care is looking for an energetic and Christ-centered individual to help on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. The hours would be Monday/Wednesday from 11:00-4:30 and Fridays from 1:00-4:30. Please contact Kelsey Post at kpost@allendalechristian.org with any questions or interest.

ACS is looking to add substitute teachers and aides to our list. If you have interest, or know someone that might, please reach out to Brian Koetje, Head of School, at bkoetje@allendalechristian.org to learn more.

Help! The recess duty committee needs you! With the growth of our school, we now need the help of 3 volunteers each school day. We cover the morning recess from 9:55 to 10:40am and the lunch recess from 12:20 to 1:30pm. The requirements are to love kids, love ACS staff, and pass a background check. The time commitment is about 1 hour twice a month. Parents, grandparents, or those with a love for the ACS community are welcome. Can you help? Classroom Lunch Coverage Opportunities! Our need for lunch coverage in classrooms is back this school year! This is a GREAT way to support our teachers and allow them time with their teaching teams for professional development opportunities and planning purposes. Please consider signing up to cover your child(ren)'s lunch period so their teacher can step out of the room for these opportunities! FUNDRAISERS & PTA

Mother/Daughter Event: Special thanks to the ladies who put on this event earlier in the week! It was a blessed time of fellowship and fun!

Father/Son Event: The father/son event will be at the Griff's Georgetown Ice Arena on Saturday, October 28th, from 1:00-2:30pm. Come for a fun afternoon of ice skating! This event is $10 per person, which includes a skate rental (if needed). A snack will also be provided! To register for this event, please go HERE.

Fall/Winter Instant Trip is held every other Tuesday night from 7:00-7:30pm. In order for us to run this program we need at least three volunteers at each session on Tuesday night. Moms in Prayer Allendale is starting up again! Moms in all schooling communities (private, public, homeschool) are welcome. We will be kicking it off on Thursday, October 12 @ 8:30am by connecting over coffee in a home, and will pray the following Thursdays in a local church. Protect Young Eyes - Harbor Churches is hosting a FREE Protect Young Eyes presentation at Fair Haven Church on October 16 from 6:30-8:00pm. This presentation will cover how to Create a Tech Ready Home. Please go HERE for more information and to RSVP!

Unity Christian Sponsored Girls' Middle School Swim Team - Unity Christian is pleased to offer a swim team for girls in 6th - 8th grade. This program will begin on October 25 and will conclude on December 6. Practices will be held at Hudsonville High School (old pool), and two meets are planned. The cost to participate is $70, and the deadline to register is October 20. Borculo Christian School will be holding a Mom-2-Mom Sale & Bake Sale on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 9 am - Noon in the school gym. BCS is located at 6830 96th Ave, Zeeland, MI 49464. The annual Heritage 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Gather your teams and sign up at the following link Heritage 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament Registration Form before October 16th.

K-2 Below The Rim Basketball School will run at Evergreen Elementary in Allendale for five Saturdays in November and December. They teach age-appropriate fundamentals while incorporating contagious energy, enthusiasm, and fun! Through fun and interactive contests, they focus intense but fun training on shooting and dribbling. They will also teach other skills such as passing, defense, spacing, and cutting. Each session also sets aside time for live play! The registration form can be found here.
