ACS NEWS & ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

Thanksgiving Snack Drive - Our ACS kindergarteners are collecting snacks for Hand2Hand Ministries this Thanksgiving! A flyer should have gone home with your child(ren) last week, but click HERE if you don't recall seeing it. Snacks should be placed on the table in the rotunda no later than this Friday, November 17. What a great opportunity to bless those in need!


Maternity leave coverage: ACS has two maternity leaves this school year where we will need coverage. If you know of someone with experience in education that might have interest in one, or both, of these positions, please have them reach out to Brian Koetje, Head of School, at bkoetje@allendalechristian.org, or call the office at 616-895-5108.

  1. 3-day Kindergarten Long-Term Guest Teacher: This position will be after Spring Break through the end of the school year. The expectation will be to do the planning and teaching for the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Kindergarten class. We will be seeking candidates with a teaching certificate and classroom experience. 
  2. Librarian & PEAK Guest teacher: This position will be shortly after Spring Break through the end of the school year. The schedule is Monday (10:30-3), Wednesday (8:30-11), Thursday (9:40-3:10), and Friday (full day). The position includes a few PEAK classes (high ability learners) each week.


Child care is looking for an energetic and Christ-centered individual to help on Fridays from 1:00-4:30pm. Please contact Kelsey Post at kpost@allendalechristian.org with any questions or interest.


Allendale Christian is one of the schools invited to participate in a drone program hosted by Hudsonville Christian School for students in grades 6-8. Practices will be after school at HCS one to two days per week in January and February, and likely one tournament in March. They ask that a parent coach is also included. If you have interest in this opportunity, please email Brian Koetje at bkoetje@allendalechristian.org as soon as possible.


Lost and Found- We have a large amount of items that have compiled into our lost and found already. Please feel free to come look at the table in the rotunda or have your child look for any items they may be missing.


School picture retakes will be on Tuesday, November 28. The photographer will be here right in the morning and will be ready to take pictures by 8:30am. If your child is not typically at school on Tuesday mornings but you desire them to have retakes, please feel free to bring them in and check in with the office. We will let you know where pictures are being taken.


Classroom Lunch Coverage Opportunities! Our need for lunch coverage in classrooms is back this school year! This is a GREAT way to support our teachers and allow them time with their teaching teams for professional development opportunities and planning purposes. Please consider signing up to cover your child(ren)'s lunch period so their teacher can step out of the room for these opportunities! The ACS Auction has a BIG need for help. The event is coming up in February (in-person Auction on Feb. 24). It is the LARGEST annual fundraiser each year, benefitting every family at ACS. We are already getting sponsors and some items, but we have an urgent need for help. If you are able to help with calling and/or event set-up/take-down, please send an email to Sarah Brown, auction chair, at sbrown@allendalechristian.org.

This is the LAST WEEK to place an apparel order! Be sure to place your order no later than November 16 to pick up items before Christmas break, with plenty of time to sneak your ACS holiday cheer into your family's stockings. Click HERE to shop! Did you know ACS has a committee that recycles ink and toner cartridges? There is a bin just inside the main entrance for you to drop off your used cartridges. We then turn them into classroom supplies to help support our teachers and students! Thanks for your help in turning another form of trash into CA$H!! If you have any questions please contact Jodi Oosterheert at rjo5959@gmail.com.


Parents, Please do not forget to be on the lookout for that Trash that turns into CASH for ACS! Unfortunately, many companies have scaled back with their giving, which puts a greater responsibility on each of us to do everything we can to make our Trash for Cash add up! Recently flyers were sent home with your students regarding the digital Box Tops program, please see this handout or this link for instructions on this digital program. Box Tops and Our Family Brand physical UPC's are our two main programs to earn Trash money currently. Thanks for your help and dedication to earning every penny in order to lower tuition and support our teachers and students! Don't forget to follow the FB page: Allendale Christian - Trash for Cash for updates! Questions, please contact Erin Ensing at erinensing911@gmail.

Unity Christian is proud to present the musical Holiday Inn this fall under the direction of Mrs. Ashton Foreman. Performances are scheduled for 7:00pm on November 30 and December 1 and at 5:00pm on December 2. Performances will take place at the Hudsonville High School Auditorium on Allen Street. Holiday Inn is a 1940’s pop style musical with many familiar favorites. Jim Hardy leaves the crazy Broadway life for a simple farming life. There’s just one problem. He has no experience farming. He instead, with the help of the original owner of the farm, Linda Mason, starts a show place hotel that is only open on the holidays. This is a show all ages will love. 

Ticket Sales: 

  • Early release tickets are now on sale for $14 each. General tickets will go on sale November 17 for $8 each. All tickets are sold online here or on our website under "Parent Resources." You are able to pick your own seats and pay online.  
  • For handicap seating, please call the school office at 669-1820.
