Why don’t we just say, “homeless families”?



We see too much potential in the families we serve to allow them to be defined by their housing status.

The 2023 Family Promise Annual Gala, “Unlocking a Brighter Future: Prevention is Key”, is only a few weeks away! Please join us at 6 PM on Thursday, October 12 at Edgewood Country Club in River Vale for a spectacular night celebrating the families and individuals we serve.

Family Promise Provides a Bridge to Self-Sufficiency

In 2020, the Family Promise sheltering network of congregations, serving working families experiencing homelessness, was forced to close due to the pandemic. In its place, the Bridge Network was developed, and continues to assist families on their road to stability and self-sufficiency.

Another Amazing Year at Camp Lots-of-Fun!

As summer comes to an end, so does another year of Camp Lots-of-Fun, Family Promise’s annual two-week day camp for children ages 5-12 who have experienced homelessness. In addition to welcoming many boys and girls from our own shelter and support programs, we once again invited children from the Center for Hope and Safety and Bergen County HEARTS Program.

Before Olivia Carbonaro became Family Promise of Bergen County’s new accountant, she was for years a dedicated volunteer. In that capacity, she learned things they don’t necessarily stress in accounting classes.

Family Promise Youth Council kicks off a New Year

The Family Promise Youth Council is looking forward to another exciting year of service and friendship. All high school students in Bergen County are eligible to participate. The first meeting will be held on September 18 at the Church of the Savior, 643 Forest Avenue, Paramus at 7 PM. Please note the change in location.
