New Diners Club Coming to Norland!

We’re excited to share that Community Care is expanding our Diners Club program with a new location in Norland. The first Diners Club at this new site will take place on February 25 at 3448 Monck Rd., Norland, offering another opportunity for neighbours to enjoy a nutritious meal and meaningful social connection.

In addition to Norland, Diners Clubs continue to be offered throughout the month in Lindsay, Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon, Bethany, and Burnt River, helping bring people together across Kawartha Lakes.

Menu details and registration information are available at www.ccckl.ca/community-dining/.

New Volunteer Opportunity

Looking for a meaningful way to make a difference?

We’re now recruiting for Community Connectors! These are caring volunteers who help reduce social isolation by offering friendly outreach, supportive listening, and encouragement to take part in local activities and programs.

As a Community Connector, you’ll help neighbours build confidence, discover community resources, and feel more connected to others. It’s a flexible role and full training and support are provided by our Wellness Team.

If you’re someone who enjoys conversation, values inclusivity, and believes in neighbour-helping-neighbour, we’d love to hear from you!

Apply today at www.ccckl.ca/volunteer

This project is supported by the Social Sustainability Fund through the Kawartha Community Foundation.

Updates to the Good Food Box Program

Just a reminder for Good Food Box participants that pick-up continues on the third Tuesday of each month at 21 Angeline St. N., Lindsay, with an extended pick-up window from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please note that payment and pre-payment are now managed by Kawartha Lakes Food Source, and pre-payment is no longer accepted at the pick-up location. To pre-pay or learn more about the program, visit www.kawarthalakesfoodsource.com/store/p/good-food-box  or call 705-324-0707.

If you have any questions about the program, Kawartha Lakes Food Source is now the main point of contact. We look forward to seeing you at the next pick-up!

We are still in need of volunteers to deliver Good Food Boxes!

Good Food Box Delivery Drivers help make healthy, affordable food accessible to everyone in our community. By delivering food boxes to participants’ homes or community pick-up sites, volunteers play a vital role in reducing barriers to healthy eating and supporting community connection. The time commitment is just 1-2 hours on the third Tuesday of every month.

We'd love to hear from you! Visit www.ccckl.ca/volunteer to learn more and apply!

Thank You for Making Our Holiday Appeal a Success

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the Community Care Foundation is proud to share that our Holiday Appeal exceeded its goal, raising $60,000 from more than 300 donors, along with an additional $20,000 matching gift from sponsor Economy Wheels – Nissan.

This remarkable result is a powerful example of what happens when neighbours help neighbours. Your support will allow Community Care to expand subsidies for essential services, helping even more individuals access care when financial barriers might otherwise stand in the way. Last year alone, nearly 3,000 instances of care were subsidized, and this year’s appeal will help that impact grow even further.

These funds will also strengthen volunteer programs through continued investment in recruitment, training, and support. Volunteers are at the heart of Community Care, contributing more than 54,000 hours of care last year, and your generosity helps ensure they can continue serving our community with compassion and dedication.

From all of us at the Community Care Foundation, thank you for believing in our mission and for helping make a meaningful difference in our community.
