National Volunteer Week
Join The Movement!

The sharing of time, skills, knowledge, empathy, and creativity is vital to the inclusivity, strength, and well-being of our community. By coming together and increasing our collective efforts, CCCKL’s volunteers have a significant impact on the quality of life that our community members strive for.
National Volunteer Week, taking place this year from April 27 – May 3, offers an opportunity to celebrate the incredible contributions of CCCKL’s volunteers and the positive impact they make in our community.
In honor of National Volunteer Week, Volunteer Canada has announced this year’s theme: Volunteers Make Waves – Together, We Create a Ripple Effect.
As the needs of our community evolve and volunteer motivations shift, we want to reinvigorate community participation. What better way to do this than by inviting you, our community, to share your personal stories? We’d love to hear how CCCKL’s volunteers have made a difference in your life, whether through services you’ve received or by supporting a family member or friend. This is a chance for us to recognize and appreciate the caring, dedicated volunteers who help make it all possible.
If you have a story to share, we would love to hear from you! Please send your experiences to volunteerservices@ccckl.ca or contact our Volunteer Services team at 705-324-7323 ext. 466.
You can also get involved by becoming a volunteer with us today! Visit our website to learn about the variety of volunteer options available.

March is Nutrition Month, which is a chance to raise awareness about the importance of healthy eating and to recognize the role dietitians play in providing food and nutrition information.
This year's theme, Nourish to Flourish, reminds us of the powerful connection between the food we eat and our overall well-being. At Community Care, we’re passionate about helping you thrive with nutritious, delicious food every day.
Some of our Food & Nutrition Services include:
- Meals on Wheels – Nutritious meals delivered right to your door.
- Diners Club – A social and delicious way to enjoy a meal with friends.
- Cooking Classes – Learn new skills and recipes for a healthier lifestyle.
- Good Food Box – Fresh, local produce available for purchase and pick up each month.
Nourish your body, nourish your soul, and let’s flourish together!
Visit http://www.ccckl.ca/food-nutrition or call us at 705-324-7323 to learn more about our services and how we can help you eat well, feel well, and live well.

| | “I always feel empowered at the end of CCCKL events and meetings. The dedication of the Directors, other volunteers, and the staff makes me feel like we are making a difference in the lives of our clients.” | | | “My favourite part of this volunteer opportunity is witnessing the success in the wellbeing of our community members and the multiple support systems for them within Community Care.” | | | Heartwork at Hospice Services | Submitted by Frances Randerson-Lavender, Medical Admin, GAIN Community Team | |
CCCKL Hospice recently facilitated another Heartwork program. This valuable group is a gentle approach to understanding grief and exploring the various emotions and realities that come with it. The wonderful thing about accessing these emotions through artwork is that what we cannot express verbally is often revealed through the creation of art. The acknowledgment of these emotions and the opportunity to explore what is discovered allows Heartwork participants to explore ways to incorporate these emotions into their grief journey. Participants are not required to have any artistic experience. In fact, participants quickly see that there is an artist hidden in all of us. Please enjoy the outstanding work from our recent participants. Our sincere thanks to all our participants for their willingness to share.
