Spring is finally here!

May/June 2019
A letter from Kate

Family homelessness is complicated.  I was reminded of this two weeks ago, and every day really, when I attended the Family Promise National Convention aspirationally named Mission Possible.  There, colleagues from around the country discussed the complexities of what we do and searched for better ways to help homeless families.

Another Network Family successfully on their way!

Many of you met a couple with their beautiful son, while they were in the Network. We are happy to report that after 4 months, the family moved into their own apartment on April 5th.

Support Needed for Camp Lots-of-Fun

Summer is right around the corner and that means we are getting ready to welcome 30 campers ages 5-12 to Camp Lots-of-Fun, our two-week day camp for children who are currently or were recently homeless.

Weekend volunteers at the Family Center: the importance of being there

Most people who want to help others want to help others - actually do something for them or with them. Yet one group of Family Promise of Bergen County volunteers understands that helping can take the form of their simple presence - just being there.

20th Annual Golf Outing Fore Family Promise

Join us for a fabulous day of golf on Tuesday, June 11th at Edgewood Country Club in River Vale, which was recently voted "Best Golf Course" in the 2019 Best of Bergen Poll by (201) Magazine. The event includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, and refreshments on the course, cocktails, a silent auction and dinner.
AND THE WINNER IS......

The Family Promise 2019 Super 50/50 Raffle drawing took place on April 10th at Edgewood Country Club.  A total of 976 tickets were sold, just shy of our goal to sell 1000 tickets.   With a grand prize of 25% of the proceeds, the winner, Kyunglim Kim received a total of $24,400 before taxes.
