'Tis the Season!
November/December 2020
Letter from Kate
Family Promise has always been known as the organization that provides a community response to family homelessness.  We utilize that same community response to address hunger.  In fact, without the help of brave volunteers, we could not have stepped forward to meet this growing need.

Nancy's lasting impact - one homeless mom's 18-year journey

The day before the Sofa Soiree, Irene C. called the office and asked to speak with Nancy Woods.  Our Office Administrator, Renee Harper, gently told her that Nancy had passed away in June.  Tearfully, Irene described how Nancy had been an important part of her life.

Family Promise makes an impact

When we approached Fr. Herman of St. Cecilia's Church in Englewood about using the church parking lot to distribute meals, we told him it was going to last for two weeks.  Secretly, we hoped World Central Kitchen's commitment to us would be extended, but we never thought that when it began on May 11th, it would continue for 23 weeks!

Giving Tuesday-support homeless families

Giving Tuesday is December 1, 2020. On this global day dedicated to giving back, please consider a donation to Family Promise. Families need your help more than ever to stay stably housed during the pandemic. Thank you for your support!

Sofa SoirĂ©e Success!

Despite being physically apart, we all came together (via Zoom) for our first ever Virtual Gala-and raised more than $100,000 for Family Promise! The hour-long event was held on October 15th and featured a silent auction, an inspiring, informative program, and more.

Give the gift of hope for homeless children

Speaking of the holidays, the Family Promise Holiday Giving Fund ensures that every family in our programs will receive gift cards so that parents can purchase holiday gifts of their own choosing for their children.  The Fund also provides shelter, rental assistance, and support to keep families safe and stably housed during this uncertain time.
