A New Year Brings New Hope

January/February 2019
A letter from Kate

Dear Friends,

Homelessness among families with children is on the rise. But if you read a recent report from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, you might come away with a totally different picture.

Winter wonderland holiday celebration

On a chilly evening in December, hearts were warmed with cheer at the annual holiday party for our families. Members of Family Promise's Youth Council for the Homeless magically transformed Christ Church in Hackensack into a winter wonderland...

With winter comes code blue

Family Promise has again committed to providing emergency shelter to any family needing a place to stay overnight during what is known as a Code Blue.
Family Promise Thanksgiving tradition

One well-kept secret here at Family Promise is that we provide two Thanksgiving dinners to hungry, homeless, and needy people every Thanksgiving.

The Super 50/50 Raffle is here!

The 50/50 Raffle is a great way to support Family Promise! The grand prize is 25% of the proceeds, up to $25,000, with 16 additional chances to win.

First grader's passion for reading results in holiday giving!

Gemma Margaliotta is a seven-year-old first grader with a passion for reading and writing. She dreams of being an author and a teacher someday. Gemma wrote a book called Winter Rules and told her mom, Julia, that she wanted to sell copies and raise money for an organization that helps children and families.

Gratitude for our Walk-in Dinner volunteers

As we begin a New Year, we reflect on the many people and things for which we are grateful. And with this in mind, it's a perfect time to thank all of the many volunteers and groups taking part in the Family Promise Walk-In Dinner Program...

A question of perspective

At a recent holiday party, Nathaly, a former resident in the network, had nothing but praise for Family Promise. "The doctors take care of the kids, but Family Promise feeds ME! They have done so much for me. When I'm at Family Promise, I'm home!"
