Sponsor Team PSG for the 2023 Colfax Marathon
|
|
We are thrilled to be a Charity Partner for the 2023 Colfax Marathon in Denver and we are seeking business sponsors to support the cause! Running and walking events take place on May 20 & 21. Over the course of these two days, more than 35,000 runners will descend upon the city to participate on in a full marathon, half marathon, urban 10-miler, marathon relays, and a 5K.
Businesses and organizations can use this opportunity to show support for Project Safeguard AND get some exposure by becoming a Team PSG sponsor. We have more than 50 people on our team so far, running in honor and memory of survivors, and runners in the longer distance races will be spending HOURS looking at the back of shirts, so this is a great way to get your business logo seen by large numbers of people.
Check out our sponsor packet for details on sponsorship levels and benefits. If you have questions or are ready to sign up, contact jenn.doe@psghelps.org. The deadline for sponsorships is March 13 and some benefits require a commitment by March 6.

Have you signed up to run or walk with Team PSG yet?
Prices increase next week and race day is only 12 weeks away!

Registration prices increase on March 9, so register today for the best rates and select Project Safeguard as your charity. E veryone who registers before that date will be entered to win a 2 night stay at the Westin Hotel Downtown! How awesome would that be for race weekend?! And, check out these gorgeous finishing medals for anyone who runs the marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, or urban 10-miler! The recommended minimum training time for a half marathon is 12 weeks, so this is a perfect time to get started!
Once you register and select Project Safeguard as your charity in the process, we will be notified that you joined our team. We'll follow up with information on how you can setup an peer-to-peer fundraising page and share tips and tricks for raising money on our behalf. If you don't want to run or fundraise, but you want to support the cause, you can make a donation through our event fundraising page anytime!
Are you already registered or planning to run Colfax? If you have already registered, you can go back and pick us as your Charity Partner. Change your registration and email jenn.doe@psghelps.org so we can let you know the fun things we have planned.

We are so grateful for your support!

More than 50 people have signed up to run in support of Project Safeguard and nearly 30 of those people have created peer-to-peer fundraising pages. This has brought in more than $14,000 in donations, which puts us less than $6,000 from reaching our goal for this event! We are absolutely blown away by the generosity of our community. We haven't had a chance to reach out and thank every donor, but please know that your donations will have a huge impact for survivors!

February is Black History Month and this year's theme is "Black Resistance". Black History Month began in Chicago during the summer of 1915 when Carter G. Woodson traveled from Washington, D.C. to participate in a national celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of emancipation sponsored by the state of Illinois. It is commonly said that Woodson selected February to encompass the birthdays of two great Americans who played a prominent role in shaping black history, Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. Learn more about this year's theme and the origins of Black History Month on the Association for the Study of African American Life and History website.

February also recognizes Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and this year's theme is “Be About It”. This annual, month-long effort focuses on advocacy and education to stop dating abuse before it starts. Dating violence is more common than many people realize, especially among teens and young adults:1 in 3 U.S. teens will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from someone they’re in a relationship with before they become adults. And nearly half (43%) of U.S. college women report experiencing violent or abusive dating behaviors. Learn more about this issue and what you can do about it on the Love is Respect website.

Many nonprofits rely heavily on year-end giving from individual donors, which is why you get bombarded with emails asking you to give in November and December.
For some people, making a smaller monthly donation is more budget-friendly, and helps provide sustainable funding for nonprofits.
|
|
Many workplaces have programs that allow employees to give to a charity directly out of their paycheck and some employers will even match donations! If you have made or are planning to make a donation, ask your employer if they will match it.
