ROMA 2022

Mayor Allan Alls, CAO Nathan Hyde, Director of Infrastructure Nick Colucci and Director of Finance Oliver Gob, recently attended the Annual Rural Ontario Municipalities Association Conference.

Advocating on behalf of residents for funding to help alleviate the costs of connecting current property owners to the wastewater system, they met with the Minister of Infrastructure Hon Minister Kinga Surma and the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, Ms Andrea Khanjin.

The discussions were fruitful and we are hoping for some positive outcomes. The Town will be announcing the winning bid on the construction tender in the coming weeks and groundbreaking is expected in spring.

Supplementary Property Tax Bill

Did you receive a supplementary tax bill? Supplementary Tax Billing can be done at any time during the year. A supplementary tax bill may be issued when there is an increase in the value of your property. The increase may be a result of a newly constructed home, an addition to the house, the construction of a swimming pool, construction of a new building or a change in the class of a property.

This change can be backdated to the date of the change to a maximum of (3) years.

Supplementary taxes are in addition to any other billing you may receive in the year. You will be notified from MPAC of the value of assessment and the effective date before you receive a supplementary bill from the Town. You would have received the notice from MPAC approximately 90 days ago, prior to receiving the tax bill, outlining the details for the change in assessment.

Please note that MPAC does not allow municipalities to send out Supplementary Tax Bills until 90 days after the re-assessment has been sent out to the residents.

If you have any questions about the change in assessment, please do not hesitate to contact MPAC at:

Toll Free 1 866 296-6722
