This was a very good week for Hillsboro.

A large crowd gathered and celebrated the First National Bank of Central Texas' ribbon cutting and grand opening at their new location on Corsicana Highway in Hillsboro on Thursday.

The bank presented a generous donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Hill County, and addressed the crowd with stories of their small town Texas beginnings, 2002 Hillsboro opening, and a commitment to service and support for the Hillsboro community.

The weekend has big events downtown, but before we get to that, let's take a moment to wish Willie Nelson "Happy Birthday". The Hill County native, legendary singer and songwriter, and recent winner of three Grammy awards turns 90 this weekend on Saturday.

Willie was inducted into the Hillsboro Chamber Hall of Fame at our 2006 Annual Awards Banquet for his many contributions to our city and county.

Happy Birthday Willie!

Fun Fact: Rick Bailey, Art Mann and Roger Galle pictured above with Willie, have all served as past Presidents on the Hillsboro Chamber Board of Directors.
