HIV Champion retires

We congratulate and thank Harold Phillips, MPA as he retires from federal service. He was the Director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP), where he led the effort to set the Administration’s domestic HIV/AIDS priorities, including the National HIV/AIDS Strategy and the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiative.

Prior to joining the White House, Mr. Phillips served as the Chief Operating Officer for the EHE Initiative in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Director for the Ryan White Program’s AETC and SPNS projects and other Ryan White programs. Harold Phillips is a friend of ANAC and champion of nurses. He has spoken at ANAC conferences, national webinars and other convenings. In 2023, he was awarded the ANAC Public Service Award - the only annual award given to a non-ANAC member. We wish him the very best in the next chapter!

Call for abstracts

The American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing announces a call for manuscripts for their new journal, the Journal of Ambulatory Care Nursing, which will launch in 2025. JACN will be the leading publication in the field of ambulatory care nursing, dedicated to advancing evidence-based ambulatory care nursing practice, clinical research and professional development.

This is a potential opportunity to have nurse-led HIV prevention and treatment research and programming in front of primary care audiences.
